Value & Conclusion

  • The 16 GB (2x 8 GB) Team Group T-Force Night Hawk 3000 MHz kit's pricing is unknown at the time of writing.
  • New looks quite unlike anything else on the market today
  • Breathing LED lights
  • Decent overhead for overclocking
  • Black heatsink; red white or blue LEDs to match your build.
  • Lifetime warranty
  • 1.2 V - 1.4 V operating voltage
  • 10-layer PCB
  • Mid-level performance
  • Not everyone is into the LED craze
  • Tall heatsinks may interfere with some aftermarket coolers
Team Group's new Night Hawk series of DIMMs definitely make a statement with their looks and high-quality feel. The LEDs, to me, are done just right, not too bright or simply static. The pulsing glow offered stands out and catches the eye, and you do not need added cabling to make them work. With ratings of up to 3200 MHz and availability in both 16 GB and 32 GB configurations, there is sure to be a set that meets what you are looking for, and being able to buy sticks with white, red, or blue LEDs means you can get just the right kit to really complete your new build or upgrade your existing one.

If we take a look at the benchmark results, well, these are not the best sticks out there when it comes to performance, but if you look at Team Group's other offerings out there, these sticks should be priced rather reasonably, and if they aren't, someone made a big mistake. Team Group simply is not the brand with overpriced products of any kind. Yet at the same time, the ICs used to make these sticks are Samsung ICs that can overclock quite well once you really push the voltage, although that does mean taking it to voltage levels that these sticks are not officially rated to support. However, since these sticks carry a 1.2V - 1.4 V voltage rating, you do have a bit of overhead should you want to push them a bit without leaving Team Group's warranted ratings. That is something that I, as a guy who loves playing with memory clocks, really appreciates.

Now, I know not everyone is into LEDs these days, but the fact that my wife took one look at them and called them wings right away says something about Team Group's aesthetics. The looks definitely match the name and few memory kits out there can say that. That might seems a bit trifling, but when you have so many options available when it comes to memory, those little design nuances stand out to me in ways few other kits do. Bought a set and need some help setting it up? Let me know in the forums!!
