The Tecware Haste XL RGB is an extended 800 mm wide mouse pad. As its name suggests, it does have RGB backlighting, which is integrated into its edge stitching.
Its surface material is micro-woven cloth, and it is of the generic type you can find on tons of ODM mouse pads, which course doesn't mean it's bad. On the contrary, in my opinion, the Haste pads utilize a very good surface material that is similar to the SteelSeries QcK and Dream Machines DM pads, although a slightly smoother, less textured surface.
As far as performance goes, neither Haste pad has anything to be ashamed of. All the mice I used tracked perfectly. The logo could have been done better, though. Unfortunately, it's out of a raised, rubbery material, which means your mouse will not glide across its area well. The silver lining here is that the pad is huge, and the logo is at the edge, where you probably won't move your pointer device.
Build quality on this pad is stellar—I literally have nothing against it. No parts stick out, and the surface area is even throughout; it's nice and consistent. The underside is made out of textured rubber with a very common pattern that sticks moderately well to the table.
Needless to say, RGB lighting is the biggest selling point of this mouse pad. Only a few effects are available, and there's standard solid lighting, too. However, the lighting isn't something I would call fantastic. It's rather dim, and the effects could be smoother, too. It looks fine in the dark, but it's definitely not a game changer during daylight.
At $25.99, pricing is fair, although I have seen a few less expensive ones on Amazon, so Tecware definitely didn't aim to be the cheapest option. If the Haste XL RGB would have brighter and smoother lighting, maybe even with more effects, I'd definitely give it the Editor's Choice award. It's good, but not amazing.
