Output Noise

For these measurements, we used a high quality CEM-8852 Sound DB Meter we installed 50 cm away from the NAS. Ambient noise in our lab was below 30 dBA during while these noise measurements were taken.



With 36 dBA noise output in idle, the N7710-G definitely isn't quiet, but this is a NAS for professional usage, so restricting its noise output wasn't Thecus first priority.

Output Noise Comparison Graphs

The following graphs show the N-7710-G's noise output, comparing it with other units we have tested in the past.



With 36 dBA noise output, it easily took first place in the above chart. It is a noisy NAS overall because it is uses three high-RPM fans that run at 1500 RPM in idle and with only one HDD installed.
