Packaging

The Core P5 TG ships in a flat cardboard box with specifications and marketing text on two sides, while the other two just mention the product name. Interestingly enough, the "V2" is a sticker on the box.

As it is flat-packed, I was expecting some level of required assembly, and opening the package up, you will find several compartments with bits and pieces of the Core P5 TG. Thick Styrofoam spacers hold the metal pieces of the chassis and the glass panel.

Inside the actual center piece of the chassis are additional boxes with all the necessary parts to make use of all the Core P5 features. You will find brackets for the PSU and expansion slots, as well as liquid-cooling mounting gear alongside bits for vertical GPU installation, which includes a PCIe ribbon cable. For good measure, Thermaltake has added a fourth HDD cage, USB 3.0 to Gen2/USB 2.0 adapter, and plastic support elements in case your final system is "front heavy". Thus, should your system's center of gravity make it prone to falling over face first, these little elements prevent that from happening.

The main parts of the chassis come separated into the backbone, which can be considered the core of the enclosure, a tinted glass panel, feet, an ATX tray, and solid metal mounting rods for the glass panel. On a positive note, all the parts, including the smaller bits, feel extremely sturdy, which goes a long way towards a high-quality building experience.
