A Closer Look - Outside

The Luxa 2 LM100 Mini is made of thick aluminum plates. Thermaltake has chosen to go with a black front plate while the rest uses sliver brushed aluminum. The Luxa brand has been placed right on top and in front of the chassis. There is no mention of Thermaltake anywhere.

Taking a closer look at the outside of the case, starting with the front, there is the Soundgraph VFD below the slim line optical drive bay. All the way on the bottom you will find two USB 2.0 ports, the usual pair of audio plugs and a single Firewire port behind a little drop down door, held in place by magnets. If you look closely, you will notice that the "Luxa2" sticker is a bit crooked. Thermaltake should take greater care when placing these on the case. This is like sticking the "AMG" logo on a Mercedes incorrectly.

Turning the chassis around, we can see the rear is kept in black. Thermaltake is using black steel for the inner frame of the LM100 Mini. There is space for three 50 mm fans up top, two of which are included. Below that you will find the normal opening for the mainboard backplate. The LM100 Mini can also take one low profile expansion card. Such a configuration is quite normal for mini ITX enclosures.

Both sides of the chassis are completely solid and there are no further fans or air vents around. Once again, considering the fact, that the chassis can only hold a mini ITX board, you will not have to worry about heat dissipation as much.
