Value and Conclusion

  • The Thermaltake View 51 TG Snow ARGB sells for $190–$200 excl. taxes.
  • Well-designed exterior with straight lines but elaborate details
  • Three 4 mm thick, clear glass panels
  • Loads of room for massive liquid-cooling elements without compromise
  • Ability to install two GPUs vertically with optional accessories
  • Easy assembly process because of accessibility from the sides and top
  • Top and front liquid-cooling brackets may be removed for assembly
  • Can hold any modern hardware you can throw at it
  • No real-world limit of air cooling choices, either
  • Two pre-installed 200 mm ARGB fans
  • Good balance between noise and cooling for fixed RPM, 5 V fans
  • ARGB controller compatible with motherboard control
  • Nice and tidy interior because of angled, grommet-covered holes
  • Available in black or white
  • No dust filters in the front or top
  • Lonesome 3-pin fan header on ARGB controller not useful
  • Pre-installed fan speed cannot be controlled by motherboard
  • 6-pin fan headers limit your ability to switch things up and keep the RGB control
  • Hot-swap on the rear 3.5" bays would have been nice, even as an optional accessory
  • More storage possibilities would have been nice
It is no surprise that the Thermaltake View 51 TG Snow ARGB is a massive case by market standards, although still on the smaller end for enclosures by the brand. Thermaltake has been focusing on the enthusiast liquid-cooling crowd for a while and hasn't deviated from that path with the View 51 TG. It can hold up to four radiators without any tangible compromise to your choice of GPU or PSU and the ability to easily install pumps or reservoirs.

Its massive interior size means you benefit when it comes to assembling your PC, with easy access around the motherboard and the possibility for clean cable management. Thanks to the width of the View 51 TG, your PSU of up to 200 mm and ugly 3.5" drives are hidden nicely. Due to the angled metal sheet with grommet-covered openings, all your leads are easily pushed between the compartments, and even installing liquid cooling elements on the side next to the motherboard won't cause any issues with long GPUs in most scenarios.

The View 51 TG Snow ARGB is equipped with a built-in RGB controller for the pre-installed fans. That unit, which allows you to control lighting both directly or through a motherboard header, is a bit limited in its potential, though. While it allows you to attach more ARGB fans, it forces you to stick to specific Thermaltake units via a special connector. It also sports a lonesome 3-pin fan header which runs all fans at a full 12 V all the time and has a limited capacity of 2 A. That said, the Thermaltake View 51 TG Snow ARGB is otherwise a really well-designed chassis, both visually and functionally, which means it can certainly be recommended.
