Tripowin TC-01 In-Ear Monitors Review - The Budget King!

Packaging and Accessories

We already know that the Tripowin TC-01 is a budget set of IEMs, so I was not expecting much from the unboxing. The product box comes sealed in plastic, removing which we see a relatively small cardboard box in a monochrome design. The company and product names are on the front, along with a website URL that does not work as this is written. What is it with these brands and advertising websites that are either outdated (ThieAudio) or not even a thing? Regardless, we see a render of the IEM shell on the front and useful technical specifications alongside an actual rated frequency response graph on the back. Now we have something to compare our own measurements to, so thanks for that, Tripowin. Not much to see on the sides beside some checkered patterns, and the lid can be lifted off to confirm the use of a two-piece packaging.

With the lid removed, we see packaging similar to recently examined IEMs here, as a thick foam sheet up top hosts the ear buds and the accessories are at the bottom. This time around, there is a small cardboard box with symbols to show what is inside, including all the paperwork that comes with the Tripowin TC-01. We get a QC sticker, guarantee note that is not filled out for this review sample, and a multi-language user manual that goes over the various steps involved in making the most of these IEMs, including the installation of the ear tips and the cable, and how to insert the ear buds into the ears properly. Looks like the ThieAudio Legacy 2 and Tripowin TC-01 factories use the same paperwork template!

Underneath the paperwork is the carry case. This one is black and has a hard finish on the exterior for higher endurance. It is also on the smaller side of things for increased portability, although that means you have to be picky about what you put inside. There is no branding anywhere on the case, with a zipper that goes along the middle as well as a metal hook on the side for a lanyard cable. Opening the box shows the cable inside, along with the other accessories inside a separate compartment.

Tripowin includes a second cable, this one a lanyard meant for the case to be used with the aforementioned hook. The company has also chosen to go with a single ear tip type. We get three differently sized sets of silicone tips (S/M/L), and these look and feel like the basic minimum for budget IEMs.

Given the cable is packed separately, we already know that the ear buds do not have anything attached to them. As such, you can freely pull them out of the shaped cutouts in the foam sheet, which in turn ensures the TC-01 arrives in perfect condition. While this is indeed sparse on packaging and accessories, I was not expecting a lanyard cable and quite decent case. No complaints about functionality either, with the foam sheet handling that aspect.
