The UPERFECT UGame K118 looks quite sleek, with its thin brushed aluminium bezels, sides, and back. Thanks to the thinness of the bezels, the monitor is perceived as larger than it actually is. From an aesthetic standpoint, it seamlessly blends in with modern laptops.
On the back, there are four VESA mounting holes with a 75x75 mm spacing. They allow you to easily mount the monitor to a table stand, should you want to use one instead of the supplied foldable cover/stand. The stand itself isn't included in the package; if that's the direction you want to go in, you have to get one on your own. Of course, using a table stand somewhat defeats the purpose of a portable monitor, but the VESA mounting holes are a welcome addition regardless.
The supplied foldable cover doubles as a stand for the monitor. It has a leather-like texture on the outside, and two crevices on the inside, whose purpose is to hold the panel in an upright position. One side of the cover attaches magnetically to the rear of the monitor, and then you have to fold it over the bottom edge and use the other side to cover the panel. Since there's nothing holding the cover over the panel except physics, some care needs to be taken when throwing the monitor into a backpack and lugging it around. You need to make sure that the cover is where you want it to be, as it can slide off of the panel and leave it partially exposed fairly easily.
The aforementioned crevices, found on the inner side of the cover, allow us to tilt the panel at two different angles – roughly 15 and 30°. I usually opted for the 15° angle when using the monitor next to my laptop. The 30° tilt could be a good option when placing the UPERFECT UGame K118 underneath a desktop monitor, to use it as a secondary screen for toolbars, less important apps and such.
Portability
The 1.23 kg (2.71 lbs) weight of the UPERFECT UGame K118 is similar to that of a modern 14-inch laptop, but it's not nearly as practical to lug around, because of the simple fact that the 18-inch panel is larger than laptop pockets in regular backpacks. Meaning, you'll likely have to put it into the main compartment, and then you'll have to worry about its foldable cover staying in place. Of course, the UGame K118 is infinitely more portable than a regular desktop monitor, but if you're after a monitor that you plan to move around daily, you'll be happier with a smaller 15.6-inch one. You basically have to decide what you find more important – the practicality of carrying the monitor around (smaller is better), or the overall experience of using it (larger is better).
