Shape

At first glance, the shape of the XE Wireless may look generic, but this turns out to be an ill-conceived impression very quickly. In fact, I had a hard time finding anything sufficiently similar. On paper, the shape doesn't sound special: The hump is centered, and gradually slopes down towards both ends. The front barely flares out, but the rear does, and the sides curve inwards only slightly, resulting in the width being almost constant save for the rear. The hump isn't tapered, and instead stays rather flat across the width. Unlike previous VAXEE designs, the main buttons have comfort grooves, albeit still rather subtle to avoid restricting finger positioning. Next to the main buttons are small ledges, where one's fingers can be rested. While none of these physical features are exclusive to the XE Wireless, the shape of the XE Wireless is more than the sum of its parts, and manages to feel surprisingly unique in use. Partially, at least, the size of the XE Wireless no doubt plays a part in this as well, as despite being medium-sized rather than large, the XE Wireless is wider than average around the grip area in the middle, thus lending itself to larger hands.

As for grip styles, I'd say the XE Wireless is mostly suited for palm and claw grip. It is a medium-sized yet fairly long and wide mouse with a moderately pronounced hump, which makes it suit medium to larger hands. For reference, my hands are 19 cm long and 10 cm wide, and I found the XE Wireless comfortable in claw grip.
