The Westone UM2s strike me as being a good and thoroughly thought out design. Considering the price of nearly $300 these earphones are only suited for audiophiles and perhaps musicians that crave high quality. I think that the Westone UM2s are worth every penny for someone who enjoys well sounding headphones and listens to rock and pop. The UM2’s sound is by no means analytical or anything like that, but they do have the qualities that makes them great for recreational listening.
Because of their smooth sound signature they are very pleasant to listen to for many hours at the time. The bass and mids have more than enough definition to be considered amongst the best in this price tier. Amount wise the bass is enough to please ordinary people, but bassheads will probably feel that the amount is insufficient.
The wearing comfort of these earphones is the best I have ever tried and this is largely because of the Comply foam tips. Aside from the market leading comfort they are also very easy to insert and to achieve a good seal between ear and tip. The foam tips makes it easy for everybody to get a perfect fit and seal no matter what size ear canals you have.
