A Closer Look - Outside

Out of the box, the Xigmatek Zest looks pretty massive with its sharp edges and use of glass for both the side and front panel. The two 200 mm fans are clearly visible, and angled corners further add to the depth of the overall design.

In the front, you can clearly see the two fans. In the top-right corner, you will find a large power button and the company branding right next to it. You may access them by pulling the cover off, but watch that huge power button as it is firmly attached to the lead that goes into the case.

Looking at the rear, the only unique elements are the two vertical slots next to the traditional horizontal ones. The main side panel of the Xigmatek Zest is made out of glass and held in place by thumb screws in the rear, so that the surface of the panel is nice and clean. On the opposite side, you will find a metal panel with a large air vent running down the front.

The very bottom of the chassis is meant for the PSU. Xigmatek includes a mounting frame for easy assembly here. Above that are the eight removable and reusable expansion slot covers, with the very top holding a 140 mm exhaust fan.

In the top is a massive air vent that is covered by a magnetic dust filter. Underneath it, you can find many mounting holes that will easily allow you to go for 3x 120 mm, 2x 140 mm, or any corresponding radiator configuration. Above that, you may opt for two 200 mm fans instead. The I/O consists of two USB 3.0, two 2.0, and the usual audio I/O. You will notice the missing power button as it is in the front of the case. Interestingly enough, Xigmatek includes a power LED in the top as well even though there is one in the front, which means you get to choose which one to go for.

There is a dust filter that lines the bottom of the case. It may easily be pulled out through the rear of the Zest without tipping the whole unit over.
