The Xigmatek Zest is a cool-looking chassis that has quite a bit going for it. The massive, cool-looking glass front with two huge aRGB fans certainly looks the part, especially with the Xigmatek logo in sync with the rest of the aRGB system. On top of that, you are able to install some serious liquid cooling possibilities alongside air cooling, long GPUs, and, naturally, potent power supplies.
That said, the case itself doesn't reinvent the wheel. Everything is where you would expect it; the shroud is functional, and it is apparent that they have taken an OEM case and basically invested in their own front design and fan layout. This is by no means a bad thing as even long-standing brands like Antec do so nowadays. That said, you do notice that hint of generic within the Zest more than with, say, the Antec P101 Silent. There are simply not as many unique or cohesive features coming together in comparison.
The choice of frame is excellent, especially considering the volume of space and ability to install a large number of hard drives and cooling. You may even source additional hard-drive cages and go beyond the set number.
Please don't take this the wrong way: the Xigmatek Zest is a sexy looking case. It works well, and looking at the Xigmatek range of cases, it is probably one of the most attractive ones out there. If you happen to be in the position to buy one, you will definitely not be disappointed in terms of functionality or looks. Long story short: the Xigmatek Zest is a great case, but don't expect it to throw any engineering marvels your way. The Zest plays it safe and does so extremely well.
