The XPG Valor Air walks the fine line of how affordable a chassis could be while still presenting fundamental value and functionality. At just $59.99, with four fans included out of the box, one has to expect a few cost saving measures. At first sight, the XPG Valor Air manages to impress with a solid front panel despite the small price tag. On top of that, there is a glass panel and magnetic top dust filter. On paper the XPG Valor Air also manages to check of plenty of boxes with good AIO support, sufficient HDD mounting spots and general hardware support.
Naturally, to achieve this price point, the XPG Valor Air has some cost cutting measures. There are the plastic thumb screws and somewhat fragile body. On top of that, by simply making the case more compact and saving on material (while also being able to stuff more case into a shipping container) certainly also helps to keep the price down. As such you won't be able to fit the longest GPUs or massive PSUs inside the Valor Air without making some sacrifices. That said, the reality is, that the target audience for a $60 chassis is not the kind to buy a high-end CPU for this chassis either.
In the end, the XPG Valor Air is the right kind of case for a budget build with all the fans you could need being included and as such absolutely deserves the budget award. While you do get four basic, but solid fans for the money, you end up paying for those with a bit of a fragile body - as such it isn't really pushing the price performance, which keeps it from receiving, in the end, keeps the XPG Valor from receiving the recommended award.
