Packaging

Aside from the mouse, one finds an interchangeable back cover, quick start guide, sticker, two Xtrfy-themed keycaps, and set of replacement mouse feet inside the sturdy box. The keycap color varies based on the chosen mouse color.

The two different back covers can be used to adjust the hump curvature:

Weight

My scale shows around 58 g (+/- 1 g), which is slightly less than the weight cited by Xtrfy. Compared to other mice in its size class, the M42 is among the lightest.

Cable

The M42 features a paracord-like, braided cable Xtrfy likes to call "EZcord," and it's indeed exactly the same cable as on the M4. While still rather flexible, this cable can't quite keep up with the ultra-floppy cables found on mice such as the HyperX Pulsefire Haste. That having been said, Xtrfy hasn't received a single RMA errand related to the EZcord on the M4, so durability at least appears to be fantastic. Its measured length is 1.80 m. The cable has a ferrite bead attached, which reduces signal noise, as well as a gold-plated USB connector. Much like on the M4, the cord color matches the mouse color.

Feet

The feet on the M42 are white-dyed pure PTFE (Teflon) feet with slightly rounded edges. Thickness is above average. Glide is excellent. These are very similar to the M4 feet and just as good. Xtrfy includes a set of replacement mouse feet in the box, which is always very handy. Also included is an additional sensor ring, which may be applied to ensure CPI stays consistent upon applying vertical pressure.
