The ZM-RS6F USB has a lot going for it, but it has some major faults that makes it that less attractive. First of all the sound quality is nowhere near as good as what can be achieved with a decent sound card and a headset. This is probably due to the C-Media integrated sound card that simply cannot compete with its full sized rivals.
Even though this headset doesn't perform that well it still has a lot going for it since it features a sound card and only needs a free USB port to do its job. The fact that you just hook this headset up to a free USB port makes it extremely attractive for laptop gamers because it enables them to get decent 5.1 surround sound without having to buy an overpriced 5.1 portable sound card on top of a 5.1 headset. Factoring in the price of only $74.50 these headphone comes at a competitive price.
So even though this headset lacks some in the performance sector its ease of use and transportability is more than enough to please most casual laptop gamers. If I had a laptop and was looking for a new pair of headphones I would definitely consider these because of their surround capabilities which is so nice if you are a gamer. However, if you only use your laptop sound for listening to music there are tons of better alternatives out there that are way cheaper, i.e. Zalman ZM-DS4F or any other compact pair of headphones.
