User Experience

Like the company's former gimbals, the Weebill-S is well-designed, ergonomic, and durable. Its plastic parts appear to withstand regular use well. This gimbal is for users with heavy rigs since it is light and compact, and capable of carrying relatively heavy setup, and its ability to fold for easy storage and transportation is huge as it saves you plenty of space.

Mounting a camera is easy, and balancing it has now become even easier because of the auto-torque-adjustment and intelligent auto-tune features. However, some cameras require additional adjustments, which makes reading the manual or watching a tutorial video necessary before using the gimbal with the camera. Various parameters of the gimbal are set directly from the gimbal, so there is no reason to open the ZY app. However, the OLED display can be difficult to read if you are outside and the sun is shining.

The upgraded 8th Instune algorithm makes the Weebill-S faster while eliminating unnecessary vibrations or rough movements, and you can also adjust various axis parameters with the dial on the handle. If you haven't previously used another gimbal, you might find it difficult to understand the differences. The ability to adjust all gimbal-specific settings on the fly right on the gimbal is great since you do not have to open the ZY app, which saves you time.

Zhiyun states that the batteries last up to 14 hours! However, battery drain depends on numerous factors, such as the mounted camera-lens accessories. The heavier your rig, the faster your gimbal will seize to operate because its batteries have been depleted. Make sure to charge the batteries for a full 2.5 hours before a longer shooting session. That having been said, we actually weren't able to deplete the batteries after even four shooting sessions. Removing or inserting the batteries without removing the camera is pretty simple since you only have to remove the gimbal's horizontal lid to access the battery compartment.

The fact that this is a light A4-paper-sized gimbal makes it easier to hold for longer periods of time. Slingshot modes are easily utilized by removing the tripod and mounting the gimbal on the horizontal bar for an extra handle. However, keep in mind that you will no longer have a base for the gimbal until you put it back on its tripod.

As tools you wouldn't be able to utilize by simply hand-holding a camera, all shooting modes are there to help you bring your artistic filming concepts to fruition. However, you will have to familiarize yourself with the buttons and functions on the gimbal before your first filming session.

ViaTouch 2.0 and the TransMount image transmission module combine to provide 1080p at 30 FPS at up to a distance of 100 meters, all while offering many features, such professional monitoring and live streaming. Images transmitted to a mounted device (phone, tablet, or professional monitor) from the camera might occasionally appear on screen with a minor delay. However, the images are of great quality.

Having reviewed several Zhiyun gimbal in the past, We know our way around the ZY Play app. The ZY Play app user interface is easy to use if you know the terminology. Object tracking is a really helpful feature in various scenarios.
