Corsair Launches TX950W High Performance Power Supply

Corsair, a worldwide leader in high performance memory and computer products, today announced the launch of the Corsair TX950W power supply unit (PSU), the latest addition to the award-winning TX-series of high-quality PSUs.

The TX950W has been designed to meet the demanding requirements of PC enthusiasts, creative professionals and gamers. The TX950W is built using industrial-grade components to ensure clean and stable voltages, and has been qualified to operate at 100% load at an ambient temperature of 50°C for unmatched reliability.
The Corsair TX950W boasts a dedicated +12V rail capable of delivering 78A (936W), which equates to 98.5% of the PSU's total power output. This makes it ideal for extreme, multi-GPU gaming systems using the latest multi-core CPUs, such as Intel Core i5 and Core i7-series, all of which require high amounts of stable power at 12V.

"Corsair's TX650W, TX750W, and TX850W PSUs have dominated the market by offering superior performance and quality at affordable prices," said Jim Carlton, Vice President of Marketing at Corsair. "The TX950W raises the bar even higher, thanks to 80 PLUS Bronze efficiency, low noise, and output that's capable of reliably powering even the most demanding Dream PCs."

Thanks to the 80 PLUS Bronze certification, which guarantees at least 85% energy efficiency at typical load levels, the TX950W produces minimal waste heat and is extremely quiet. The high-quality 140mm cooling fan remains at its minimum speed until approximately 65% of the PSU's total load. Six 6+2-pin PCI-E cables are provided and the TX950W has been thoroughly tested for compatibility with NVIDIA SLI and ATI Crossfire solutions. The TX950W also boasts extra-long cables to support full-tower chassis.

The Corsair TX950W is available immediately from retailers and e-tailers, and is backed by a five-year warranty and comprehensive customer support via telephone, email, forum and the Tech Support Express helpdesk.

^ I thought so too, then saw "extra-long cables" and no mention of it being modular.

It's otherwise a pretty tight PSU.

Corsair's TX series isn't modular only their HX series. I don't really see that as a negative when you're not paying for the modular cables.

I see SPY!
Their power supplies are awesome. I have the TX650 and can't point anything wrong with it. Well, except... the fact that I have so many cables and connectors that I don't know what to do with them

Seriously, if you have a small case you better spend more and get a modular instead. But if you can arrange the cables and hide them somewhere you'll love it! :toast:

Id like to see an HX 950, but the price on the 750 and 850 is a bit high as it is. Looks very nice. I love my TX 650.

Oh this is stinkin sweet. Longer than average PSU's are the pits. Here's another new one from them. It's their only 80+ Bronze and it's modular and cheaper than the Modular 620W.

TX750W - $120
TX850W - $140
TX950W - $160

Looks awesome! But I am guessing that this is not based off of the CWT PSH design? JonnyGURU and [H]ard|OCP said that CWT was reaching the limits of the PSH design with the TX850, and I don't remember the efficiency being this high

Redbeard confirmed on the JonnyGURU forums that it's based on the DSG platform...same as the HX750/850 except with slightly cheaper components to bring down the costs which unfortunately also lowers the efficiency a bit.

Really, so the HX750/850 are built by CWT? I always assumed that they were by Seasonic

Thats very true. I've liked that about Corsair memory series as well.
I think the TX is more of a work series and the HX is more of a modder series.

And thats without the sales newegg always has them on. I picked up my TX650 for $85 and my TX750 a couple of years ago for a little over $90. I still love them both.
