Lol, Don I have a 1y/o who opens a drawer and converts it to a ladder. He's already 'rearranged' my desk multiple times without my permission.

This would be sweet in a Rogue or Lanbox, some small case to carry to LAN's or to just carry around. You could put your game CD's in there so you wouldn't have to fumble around with cases or anything.

TheLaughingManBuilding furniture requires several things that many people do not have like, wood, tools, time, and patients. This item can be very useful for some and pointless for others. For me it is rather pointless, but I will not say no one has need for it.

The one thing we can all agree on, this is a much better idea than the 3.5" Cup holder for desktops. That was just stupid.
If 70-80% yanks can have shotguns tucked away underneath their own beds & a M16/M203 nade launcher tucked away under their babys cot I'm sure that at least the same percentage of american households have basic tools such as drills, saws & nail guns. etc etc.

as for time & patience...maybe they should stop going on FB & twatter, then maybe they will get some real work done - people love to moan & bitch about how they have no time when in reality its them that WASTES their own time.

mlee49This is fail, let me explain.

This product is specificall for a Desktop.
A desktop machine sits on a Desk.
A desk has Drawers.
Drawers provide optimal storage space and thus eliminate the need for a product like this.
I'll tell you the fail behind not having one of these: 4~5 5.25" bays of wasted space in your case. Once your desk's drawers are full, your desk is next.

That was random, hateful, and completely uncalled for. Only about 35% of the American population actually own firearms. While it is their right, many choose not to exercise that right.

Please also note the larger majority of the computer user community on TPU are college students with limited funds and limited space. Keeping tools and building materials on hand are not exactly a priority when you have little space to keep your essentials.

I agree with you. What he said was for sure uncalled for. True a drawer is not ground breaking technology, but if you need room, its a great idea. If you dont need room, dont buy one. No need to get so carried away. Since you have so much time, and its so easy, can you make me some drawers? i'd offer to pay you, but since that stuff is just laying around......

gvblake22My desk doesn't have any drawers! Not everyone is cool enough to have drawers! :p
Mine doesn't either xD.

This is a good place for porn dvds, weed, other adult things....as long as you have a locking front door case that is ;)

ok actually that is a pretty good idea. cause most people snooping around your place wont look for a cabinet in your pc. to boot you could create a false back for that extra sensitive material.

This is a very good idea. Considering you dont use that space anyway why not have some junk in it ? For me the more drawers you get the better.
Perfect for pendrives/card readers/sticks/ cd markers etc. Every large case should have that sorta thing out of the box.

PS. This gave me a brilliant idea what to do with old unused ATA hdd bays :D. My front case closes anwyay so I dont care much about the looks of it.

Easy Rhinoyea, this is kinda pointless considering all of the desk drawers you have around you...

also, stuffing things inside one of these you would most likely hear rattling and vibrating.
Your both wrong. Personally I have no desk drawers as my desk is basically a sheet of wood painted and erected on chrome legs - something like this would be really handy, not just at home to hide stuff from the nosey mother, but also for LAN events and such. Personally Id put OS discs, a few utilities and my pen drives in there, alongside my bacca tin.

Really good idea, props to scythe for releasing the odd thing thats really handy.

Being another poor soul with a no-drawer desk, this is oh so tempting. However all my spare 5.25" have foam blocks to absorb ze noise.

Still ... could clear up a few square cm of desk space with one of these.

Dilemmas. :twitch:
