Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced Detailed
Cooler Master is days closer to unveiling the CM 690 II Advanced PC case, which builds on the legacy of its popular predecessor, the CM 690. What surfaced earlier this month as a cosmetic update to the CM 690 has turned out to be an overhaul in real terms, according to a leaked brochure. Noteworthy changes are listed below:
Source:
Case&Cooling.fr
- All-black interiors and rear-panel, rugged-looking gradients to the exteriors
- Motherboard tray with discrete cable-management instead of cable-holding forks, opening behind CPU socket for easy cooler RM access,
- modular 3.5" HDD bays with 2.5" and 1.8" HDD/SSD adapter
- Mounts for two 2-fan radiators on top and bottom
- Utility panel on top has a SATA HDD/SSD dock

No offense meant, but big deal, you could have gone to any e-tailer and done exactly this for years already.
Updated with three slides from CM.
I myself plan to go with a Lancool DragonLord K62 :rockout:
they took 800d corsair and try to copy it.
but....
its not corsair
this is mine
IMHO If you subtract duties, fees and tariffs from the french website's number the USA price should be around $99 since everything in EU is more taxed. That's pretty fair, I wonder how much less the CM 690 II non advanced version will cost.
its look different but a lot of patents they took from the 800d
if you will fallow the next cases you will see more to come like this
I can't work out why Cooler Master bothered to paint the inside black and then sell the case with no window at first. They are obviously intended to sell the window separate for more revenue.
Judging by the photos around on the new CM690 2, the bottom dual fan is not ideal for a dual radiator if you have anything slightly larger than a standard ATX power supply.
Comparing to the Lancool K62, the Cooler master looks sturdier and offers bottom fans, and that about it and will cost roughly £20 more than the Lancool. Where the Lancool is £80 and includes the windowed side panel...
half an hour or so with a dremall and you can make the 690 chassis almost the same as this so...not my next case :(
but come on the haf is dam fugly, great chassis but you dont keep your head inside it do you?
So next time, speak for yourself.
I think external SATA ports are a lovely idea, but the vast majority of people ( not all - before the odd or two here jumps down my throat ) use external USB drives and that Network storage is the next big thing.
And these cases aren't targeted at the masses anyway (whom rarely build their own pc), so your point about it not being needed is moot. It's targeted at enthusiasts, and enthusiast are exactly the type of people that can find a use for it.
