OCZ Technology Intros Colossus LT Series SSDs

Without making much noise, OCZ introduced Colossus LT series of solid state drives (SSDs). Like the original Colossus series, these SSDs come in the 3.5" form-factor, and are compatible with the SATA 3 Gb/s interface. The new features Colossus LT brings to the table are the use of lower-power 34 nm MLC NAND flash chips, two internal NAND-flash sets controlled by Indilinx Barefoot controllers, set in an internal RAID 0 array. The array is abstract to the host. There is 128 MB of cache on board. The drive offers read/write speeds of 260 MB/s, 15,000 IOPS on 4K random access, and sustained speeds of 220 MB/s. It comes in four capacities: 120 GB, 250 GB, 500 GB, and 1 TB, which are priced at US $ $399, $799, $1,549, and 2875 EUR, respectively. They come with an MTBF of 1 million hours, and warranty of 3 years.

What OCZ needs to do with trim their product lines. They've got way too many.

and then you can buy 3 1TB drives and run naked across the streets screaming:IT'S OVER NINE THOUSAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:roll::roll::roll::roll::roll:

i don't know if my math is right, but according to this, the price per GB of the 1TB is U$3,82.And there's still people saying that SSD will hit price parity with mechanical HD in 2012...

And yet this drive does not support trim, like the original colossus that also uses indilinx controllers.

How do you know these don't support trim?

Well the old ones don't, if you browse the ocz site every ssd that supports trim is advertised as supporting trim, this and the original are only advertised as having "background garbage collection". My guess is whatever prevented them from having trim on the first one is still a problem now.
