OCZ Technology Intros Colossus LT Series SSDs
Without making much noise, OCZ introduced Colossus LT series of solid state drives (SSDs). Like the original Colossus series, these SSDs come in the 3.5" form-factor, and are compatible with the SATA 3 Gb/s interface. The new features Colossus LT brings to the table are the use of lower-power 34 nm MLC NAND flash chips, two internal NAND-flash sets controlled by Indilinx Barefoot controllers, set in an internal RAID 0 array. The array is abstract to the host. There is 128 MB of cache on board. The drive offers read/write speeds of 260 MB/s, 15,000 IOPS on 4K random access, and sustained speeds of 220 MB/s. It comes in four capacities: 120 GB, 250 GB, 500 GB, and 1 TB, which are priced at US $ $399, $799, $1,549, and 2875 EUR, respectively. They come with an MTBF of 1 million hours, and warranty of 3 years.
