I still don't understand the complete idea of this, there is a huge problem of starvation in developing countries yet they give them laptops. I know that having laptops may help them to develop better in the future but I would've thought it would be better to ensure that people have their basic needs first.

well MIT has to do with technology...so they are trying to do what they do best...and help these poor countries.

I swear I have seen these in Toys 'R' Us before.

I mean seriously, why not make them at least look like something that wasn't created in Elmo's workshop? I understand Kids are the main idea behind this, but I still would have made it look more Computer and less Speek and Spell.

Thoughs laptops are pretty cool ,they have a handle that you turn which in-return powers and stores power in the laptop , a campers dream!!

No... I'm saying these laptops will help entire communities learn more about efficient methods for growing their own food, will connect different communities with wi-fi so they can trade goods easier and establish a little bit of civilization in otherwise anarchist lands.

That's a cool idea... wifi hotspots in Africa with all these kids using their windup laptops to talk on msn!

they over clock very well ,I think like 6.7GHZ as long as you crank the power thingy at like 9000 rpm .:toast:
