The Stealth model KYBX-400 series keyboard is an industrial grade keyboard with built-in optical trackball that is environmentally sealed to NEMA 4, 4X, IP65 specifications. This tough keyboard is housed in a rugged, vandal resistant, stainless steel enclosure that stands up to harsh, wet and dirty environments.
Stealth's hardened keyboard features 71 full-travel polymer keys with silent tactile feedback for fast and accurate data input functionality. The 38mm optical trackball is sealed to IP65 specifications and offers an advanced resolution of 800DPI. Stealth's KYBX-400 series keyboard also features NVIS-compliant red adjustable backlighting, which makes this keyboard ideal for military, aviation or vehicle applications where night vision goggles are worn.

but the backspace is too small
Owner: Well he scared me because he had a knife, so I grabbed my rugged keyboard and weilded it like a caveman's club, and blood didn't even get in the keys.
Marketing Department: Buy the new Rugged Stainless Steel, Vandal Resistant Home Defense Keyboard for $700 today, and defend your home from intruders. :D
Well, this keyboard wouldn't stand a chance in our configuration, since the project specification required IP66 + IP67 standard to be met (needs to withstand submerging in 1m of seawater and still function properly).
And, although we had an adequate keyboard, superior to this one, it only cost us around $150.00 per keyboard and additional $470.00 of NRE costs, since we ordered specific keyboard layout. And our order was for only 100 PCS. So, $15,470.00 total.
I really don't get the price tag on this one... :wtf:
Maybe it's those shiny lights.. we had none on ours... :(
Btw, only universe in which I would give $700 for this keyboard is the one in which it kicks criminals' asses all by itself...
anyhow, i'd love all keyboards were at least crumble proof, i absolutely must eat behind my computer and then i lack letters in instant messaging :ohwell:
