Mitsubishi Intros VISEO 120 Hz Monitor with IPS Panel

Mitsubishi introduced the VISEO MDT231WG, one of the first 120 Hz monitors that make use of an IPS panel for better image quality. Further, it makes use of LED-backlit illumination for great viewing angles. This 23-inch panel provides full-HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 5.5 ms response time, 350 cd/m² maximum brightness, and contrast ratios of 900:1 CRO, 5,000:1 DCR.

Features are a plenty, there's a 2.1 speaker set with 2x 3W stereo and 5W sub-woofer, Mitsubishi MPIII and GIGA Clear II image engine that work to enhance image quality, and connectivity that includes D5 digital port, S-Video, component, D-SUB, DVI-D, analog audio in/out and digital optical. Set to release in Japan, it costs around ¥116,800 (around US $1,400).

How come fake?? Based on what? Your photo?? What is refresh rate got to do with switching time?? And besides, your camera should have been set with high ISO and fast recording mode...

no 3d

i am not excited about 3d, but the ips coupled with led, i am happy seeing that is becoming more popular over those pos tn matrixes. imo 3d is shit, how stupid can you look standing in front of your pc at home with those ridiculous glasses, and the image is fuzzy on top of all...

most gamers don't care what they look like WHILE they game.

that being said, i won't buy into 3d until it doesn't require glasses. my eyesight combined with that technology spells disaster.

when gaming on 120hz you get the sharpness of a normal lcd with the quickness of a crt ie everything just seems fluid like theres no "lag" in the image you really do have to see it to know what im talking about

Plus no ghosting. Drawing the lines faster so that the image is reproduced accurately.

I love this monitor but I wish they would have HDMI connections. 1400 is a bit expensive bit I so want one of these. Does display port carry the audio like HDMI?

Displayport does carry audio, this monitor has some wierd Japanese digital connection though. Hard to find info on it.

I see. So it's INTERPOLATED refresh, just like on TV's to make the image fluid...
CRAP if you ask me...:banghead:

Trust me, that res is to big even for a 30" incher. I'm using one at work, and even with 125% DPI text, menus and icons are to small. That if you don't stay 10cm from your screen. And besides, gamming is possible only if you have a 400$+ video card...

2560x1600 27" looks just fine to me. I can see and read everything just fine.

You are right about needing a good gfx card to game on them tho.

I prefer staying at least half of meter from a big monitor...that if you value your eyes that is.... ;)

That is how far away I sit.

And a side note: Being too close to a monitor does not ruin your eyes. That's an old wives' tale.

it may not "ruin" them, but it if you sit to close over several years you warp the lens in each eye making you more near sighted than even sighted.
