ZOTAC Unleashes Duo of AMD 800 Series Mini-ITX Platforms

Im liking the 2nd board and its 95w limit, plent of options to fill that socket with :rockout:

I would use a setup like this to Crunch on, its so small its like a set it and forget it type deal.

If an ITX board doesn't have a PCI-Express x16 or any of its flavors, then you might as well forget even light gaming at 1080p/1200p. It would be better to just use an ION/ION2 Dual core Atom build. :(

I like this really, should perform better than solutions with integrated Atom/ION parts, and if your game to cut the connector down on say, a low profile GTS450 to pcie-1x, i bet it would game really decently.

still the Gigabyte mini ITX HM55 board is the king of mini-ITX for the time being, until sandy bridge I bet.

The K625 is an interesting choice for the embedded platform version.... should be decently powerful while still being pretty light on the power consumption.

If you're looking for 880G and PCI-E, ASUS has had one out for some months now:

Nice to see some competition, and I do still like what Zotac does in terms of making new designs, especially for small form factors... but after a rather bad set of experiences with one of their boards I doubt I'll go to them for my next ITX needs.

Why is everyone mad because they can't "game" on this. It is build to be a small HTPC box. The 1 PCIE slot is for a TV tuner. With either, you could build your own media center box with a slim blu-ray drive, and a laptop HDD on this platform and get it all into a box about the size of a current gen WD external or Wii.

Like say this: Antec ISK 300

You could also use the 880G-ITX in that same case with a AMD Quad core 640 or Triple core 440 and have a super small but very powerful desktop for normal people.

I do have too issues. Why are the cords for the fan and wireless antenna so long? I know those are minimum standard lengths, but why do it on a board this short?

Second, I have never seen DDR3-800 RAM. As far as I know, there has never been DDR3 RAM slower than 1066, so why not use that as the standard speed?

ATOM ITX boards with the built-in processor you can never change that match these specs would be in the $150+ range. I can get a single core Sempron 140 that will eat an Atom alive for $32. So unless the 880G-ITX is over $120, no the intel setup would not be cheaper.

I am sure I could find a cheaper built; but finding one cheaper that can match this platform in specs and power would be impossible right now.

And if I personally put a Triple or Quad core processor in this build, it would be used as a small form factor desktop PC, not an HTPC. With either and the HD 4250, it will do everything you need and then some, with ease.
