Danger Den Closing Shop

PC modding and cooling component maker Danger Den announced that it is going out of business. The announcement was made by its top brass. The group offered no more explanation than that they are pursuing other interests. On the bright side, Danger Den is running a fire-sale, with 75% off on all products purchased on its store, ending Monday (5th November). Bag a piece of Danger Den from its online store.
After 12 years our hobby has come to an end. It's time to pursue other interests and Danger Den will be closing its doors. Thank you for all your support over the years, we've enjoyed being part of your modding community. ~ Dan, Jeremy, Dennis, and Rokk

yogurt_21first the phase change market died out, now diy water cooling is taking a hit. Pretty soon we'll only have pre-built coolers. Damn kids are lazy and buy whatever's the easiest.

I swear if one of these new comers had to figure out their own method of mounting a cpu block they'd have a heart attack. Might even have one if the instructions on a pre-built mounting system were more than 5 steps.
PC's are on the way out as a whole man.

yup, the mobile platform is the future. silly to have a desktop when you can fit as much tech in a 4x3" device.

Make sure to stock up on some anything they have that you could use. I bought a few ArctiClean Thermal Cleaner sets because I just love the stuff and it 75% off. All the blocks and so on are gone but get what you can. 75% is a steal.

Ordered myself some buts and bobs. Not much left at the store, but still got some nice things.

I'll be using the TortureRack 2 in one way or another for a long time to come. You will be missed, DD!

AnimalpakThis is bad, no more serious competition in PC watercooling market.
I think you're forgetting about Koolance, EK, Swiftech, Heatkiller, XSPC, and a whole slew of others I'm forgetting.

Do you think this is more the result of consolidated hardware retailers on the small-scale or more a result of the consumer market? I think the rise of new, small-warehouse retailers would make it easier to stay afloat, but I'm not sure.

Yep. This is more the case as the younger generation goes more mobile with games based on APPS rather than a fully loaded DVD into a desktop. In about 5 years, WCing and desktops could be totally phased out.

Lots of great stuff out of stock by now (such as Gentle Typhoons for less than $5) but still scored this. Though it cost a dollar more than the final price to ship. Wanted one of their cutters for awhile but wasn't gonna pay ten bucks.

TUB-A80 Premium Tube Cutter 1 $2.49
FIT-B100 Tubing Plugs 1 $0.56
AP-106 Wire Leads for Power and Reset Switches 1 $0.31
TUB-221BNOV 1/2" Blue DreamFlex Tubing "By The Foot" 3 $1.50
TUB-222BNOV1 1/2" Black DreamFlex Tubing "By The Foot" 3 $1.50

Subtotal: $6.36

Yeah ok but seeing as how you missed it almost two years ago there was no good reason not to keep that observation to yourself.
