ECS Launches New L337 GANK DRONE Gaming Motherboard

ECS today releases the L337 (Leet) Z87H3-A3X GANK Drone Series motherboard, the first motherboard in the GANK Drone Series. This new entry level gaming motherboard brings together both great gaming features and an incredible value for aspiring hardcore PC gamers. The Z87H3-A3X GANK Drone Series motherboard is based on the Intel Z87 Express Chipset, enabling support for some of the fastest processors available, including the new Intel 4th generation Core i7, i5 and i3 processors.

All GANK Drone Series motherboards ship with an exclusively crafted L337 heatsink design, M.I.B X overclocking software tool, 8-Channel HD Audio with Sound Blaster Cinema software, and Intel I217-V Gigabit LAN optimized for gaming. The GANK Drone Series and the Z87H3-A3X motherboard represent ECS's next great expansion into the professional gaming motherboard arena.
Gaming Focus
As a member of the L337 family of gaming motherboards, the GANK Drone Series benefits from a legacy of ECS's gamer-friendly design. From start to finish, this motherboard aims to enable more enjoyable and higher performance PC gaming at a better value.

Standard gaming features include 4 Dual-Channel overclockable DDR3 memory at 1600 MHz which doubles up to 3000+MHz with the BIOS adjustable clock rates. 2-Way NVIDIA SLI or 2-Way AMD CrossFireX GPU scaling allows you to double your graphics performance through two PCIe Gen3 X 16 Slots with a bandwidth of 32 GB/s at 8 GHz. Lastly, on-board integrated graphics are gaming ready with DirectX 11.1 compatibility for the latest compute shaders, direct 2D, multithreaded rendering and tessellation for rich realistic graphics and fluid gameplay. Additionally, GANK Drone Series motherboards provide triple monitor display output out of the box.

The Ice Chokes and all Golden Solid Capacitors combined with EZ BIOS UEFI and M.I.B. X Motherboard Intelligence functions, including the new pre-configured overclocking profiles, yield a fantastic overclocking experience for enthusiasts. Golden Solid Capacitors offer a 6x longer lifespan with 20K hours at 65°C, and 40% better low temperature endurance - specifically selected for extreme cooling scenarios. Exclusive ADS (Anti-Dust Shield) Technology with the L-shape aluminum baffle design provides effective protection against harmful dust for the memory DIMMs and graphics card PCIe slots. The GANK Drone Series is true to the L337 core, possessing the flexibility and versatility needed to handle tasks such as high-definition gaming and extreme overclocking.

The materials used throughout GANK Drone Series are tailored for the aspiring hardcore gamer looking for a highly reliable, high performance rig at an affordable price. This endurance adds to the value offered by this new gaming motherboard, as it is intended for prolonged extended gaming use.

This has got to be a textbook case of 'lost in translation'. It's hideously gold as well. Stay classy ECS.

If it performs well I think people will be willing to ignore the looks. Or build a bling inspired rig. I like how they are trying hard to differentiate themselves from the usual Red-Blue-Black.

I actually got more hung up on naming the board "L337 GANK" more so than its Jersey shore inspired looks. (There is now a gold iPhone after all). Are the marketing department all 12 years old? These must be the people we're constantly muting on Xbox live.

If this were eBay, I'd report this for keyword spamming. As for the color, one could, in theory, pair it up with this video card for some interesting results. That article also helps explain the demand for gold colored devices.

I have to agree with arterius2, though. It MIGHT have a chance in a steampunk build.

ECS isn't exactly "with it" for color schemes though. An old friend of mine actually bought this board. With money. And liked it.

i love the "air deflector" next to the socket...

marketing department: "we got some sheet left, engineer: whack it on that bord to the dimm slot because it looks cool"

engineer:"noo dafuq why? ram needs air too"

marketing:"it needs even more bling bling"

engineer:"it blocks cooler for the cpu cooler sort of"

marketing:"f you, it's free bling go along!"

Giving ECS approx a year before it folds and goes the way of Abit and DFI.

Sad thing is neither abit or dfi deserved to die while ECS keep churning out crap products year after year.
