EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 SuperClocked Pictured

Here are the first pictures of EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 SC (SuperClocked) graphics card, featuring the company's new ACX 3.0 cooling solution. EVGA is apparently using NVIDIA reference PCB on some of its more affordable GTX 1080 custom-design SKUs, which draws power from a single 8-pin PCIe power connector. The new ACX 3.0 cooler loses the all matte black color scheme for a mostly brushed aluminium look, with a white LED lit badge taking up most of its top. Underneath is an aluminium fin-stack heatsink, ventilated by a pair of fans. You also get a groovy back-plate to go with it. The clock speeds are not known. NVIDIA's add-in card (AIC) partners are expected to launch their custom-design GTX 1080 graphics cards very soon.

single 8 pin too...very curious as to temp comparison to founders edition. Like the back plate and look of this card.

I had 2 of them, they were great, until you put some load on them and hear them screaming and wheezing because of the coil whine. :laugh:
I'm quite tempted to get this one though, looks nice.

If you must buy Evga buy it close to launch since after a while they will swap the Samsung memory chips for Elpida and use the lowest binned cores they have but i also have UEFI issues with the card, going back to AMD on my next upgrade any way.

This wont happen this time around, as GDDR5X is coming strictly from Micron.

Cant wait for June 10 this is mine but in a GTX 1070 flavor
EVGA GTX 1070 SC it would be $399 an extra $20 over the $379 for a SC that's how EVGA prices them.

gdallskThis wont happen this time around, as GDDR5X is coming strictly from Micron.
Im sure they will find a way to skimp on quality, plus since most people will buy the 1070 its still worth looking out for.

I don't think quality is a reason to stay away from EVGA. But I think their saga with Unwinder is.

Dont get me wrong the quality of the cooler is great, its just they skimp so much on the SC in terms of the chips they put on it later on.

I dont't think elpida or samsung memory chip matter seriously, unless you are a oc enthusiast that is ready to crank the shit out of you vga then it might matter a little to be honest. Otherwise the overall quality of evga sc version is good though.

I cannot get any significant OC going on neither the core or memory beyond the factory OC.

They say you can go up to 2.1Ghz on the card with only 1 connector, so not sure why you need 2...

this new cooler design looks pretty bulky for me, i don't get the idea of fat ass cooling solutions that aib are trying to do these day, where is aesthetic seriously?
