Corsair Intros VS-series Compact Entry-level PSUs

Corsair refreshed its VS-series entry-level power-supplies with three new models, the VS450W (CP-9020170), VS550W (CP-9020171), and VS650W (CP-9020172). The three are differentiated from the models they succeed, with a new compact body, and a reduced length of just 125 mm. Given its 100% fixed cabling, the extra clearance behind could come handy. The units are cooled by a 120 mm fan with an updated fan-profile to improve noise output.

Under the hood, the new VS-series PSUs continue to ship with single +12V rail designs, 80 Plus (below-Bronze) certification, ATX12V v2.31 / EPS 2.92 compliance with support for the latest Intel Core C-states, and protections against over/under-voltage, overload, and short-circuit. All three models have the same connector loadout, including one each of 24-pin ATX, 4+4 pin EPS; two 6+2 pin PCIe, seven SATA power, two 4-pin Molex, and one Berg. The refreshed Corsair VS-series PSUs are backed by 3-year warranties, and are expected to be priced at USD $39.99, $49.99, and $69.99, for the 450W, 550W, and 650W variants, respectively.

This is a refresh of the VS lineup rather than them releasing a whole new series of power supplies called the VS series

Are these new ones DC-DC or are they still group regulated like the old VS?
When it said EPS 2.92 compliance with support for the latest Intel Core C-state i would assume that means they are DC-DC?

I like previous one more than these. CWT is more reliable OEM than HEC :(

After recent problems, I'm done buying their low-end garbage. The aggravation just isn't worth it.
