Bethesda Announces Fallout 76

Bethesda announced the title of its upcoming entry to the smash-hit post-apocalyptic/retro-futurist RPG, "Fallout 76." The game involves protagonists from Vault 76. The first teaser trailer shows our protagonist waking up from sleep to a pre-programmed welcome-speech. You get a quick tour of the vault. The trailer doesn't reveal launch date, but Bethesda is probably saving that for E3.
The trailer video follows.

biffzinkerSure in a round about way I agree with you, but I would hand a tropho to zombies as over done before the post apocalyptic fallout scenario.
Eeyup both are worn out so much it's been sick for a while.

I guess this stems from hellywood, game devs, etc "playing it safe" to not offend people but they are sacrificing everything to pander, and it's hurting them at the box office/steam sales, etc.

I'd rather more original IP from bethsoft and something less predictable.

This has nothing to do with zombie trends. Fallout's been around for 20 years. The series has had some of the same people who made everything from Planescape to Morrowind. It's a freaking legendary franchise. What rock have you guys been under? :p

I played FO3 and NV and like 30 mins of 4 and I've had enough post-apoc for a while lol. And then being bombarded with that subject on other media, the news, etc is overdoing it.

Well a good RPG would mean it would need a good story and Bethesda just don't have good story play, are terrible compared to games like Dragon age 1\3, Mass Effect, Witcher 3 and Divinity OS and my wife said Bioshock although the 1st one mainly.

Bethesda was never one for stories.... and never claimed to be. I'd suggest to just drop the expectations and play your own story. What they kill Bioware and others at is environment.. and a maybe a backdrop of lore for your story.. but that's it.

Although to be fair, they do attempt a more cohesive narrative in their Fallout titles.

Fallout 4 had a far better story than Fallout 3. Bethesda is improving in that regard. It's the settlement facet of Fallout 4 that's polarizing.

GasarakiI hope the game engine changed...
So much this! I am not a fan of the engine at all.. wonky and stiff and ugly by today's standards IMO.

Much less so with FO4 and Skyrim SE imo. Although I wouldn't use the word "stiff" either - more like flimsy and crashes like a house of cards. lol. But 64 bit was a huge improvement.

Except these are action RPGs and you can create characters. And mod the hell out of them, making them YOUR game.
