Ubisoft's Far Cry: New Dawn System Requirements Outed

The PC requirements for the upcoming Far Cry: New Dawn, a re-invented, re-visited post-apocalyptic interpretation of Far Cry 5's Montana, have been outed by the developer. Ubisoft has taken a Far Cry: Primal approach to development, it seems, and these are usually some of the more experimental Far Cry games (Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon also comes to mind). Read on after the break for the system requirements, but note that Ubisoft hasn't mentioned NVIDIA's new generation of RTX-enabled 2000-series graphics cards.

Well damn, my venerable 7970/280x 3GB won't run well at 1080 :(

Mind you it's a 7 year old 3GB card from 2012, would reeeeally bite to have a more recent card get shut out at 1080 though...

Vayra86Gosh what a surprise!

Want some pasta with your copy? :D

*note: for the '3GB is fine' crowd - check those 4GB VRAM recommendations out ;) Even on cards as slow or slower than todays' midrange.
Yeah this should have been reasonably priced DLC. I really enjoyed FC5 and the DLCs weren’t bad either(okay I never even fired up the zombie one) but this is genuinely poor form from Ubi FC5 was great but trying to sell it to me again with a different skin is pretty low...

Its not shut out at 3GB, but running High settings at decent FPS or stutter free is problematic, even if the card is powerful enough otherwise. A sign of bad balance ;)

Oh with high res texture pack enabled in FC5 it will eat up my 8GB in just a few minutes of play. First time I made use of HBCC. In the end I just disabled it rather than have to mess with one off settings for something that doesn’t add any meaningful to already pretty decent looking game. But it was neat to watch my ram get swallowed up in real time.

It is not the system requirements that concern me - its the same lame boring recipe they seem to be going with.

Copy, paste with new textures.

Using your GPS with everything marked-on down to the planets : Liberate a camp > your friends comes to occupy it > boring cut-scene> someone call you to praise you > rinse and repeat until you reach big boss of the area> same for other areas > some mission while you are hallucinating ... then THE big boss, the most boring experience in a game.

I used to call it the Ubisauce... it always feels a bit like mopping the floor. Surprise elements... zero. Thought required... zero. Just clear all the dirty icons!

Ubidubious lag compensation and down graded graphics mandatory? Is it under NDA still or can people talk about how easy to client side hack it presumably is yet.

regardless of system requirements... my system had no problem maxing out FC5. I added to my steam list. this story continuation cost $40... yeah what a joke I will wait until Steam alerts me that its on sale for $20

Also this game looks tripping on drugs the whole time I might have a hard time playing, the drug trips were never my favorite in the Far Cry series.

I do want to see how the story ends, hopefully it does! LOL

i bought farcry 5 in a recent sale.. i have played it through and yes it has its repetitive moments but i enjoyed it.. i quite like the american redneck setting.. i am still playing the game in the outpost master mode.. this resets all the outposts to cult controlled status..

i eagerly await the new game arriving.. okay more of the same but i dont mind that.. the only one i didnt like was primal.. i never really got into that.. it remains unfinished..

You might enjoy it if you don't mind every enemy being a bullet sponge. I barely slogged through the SP campaign in the first game and haven't touched the series since.

Enemies become bullet sponges the more people you have in your session ( i think you could play together with 3 other people??) you can run through it solo though but it can get kinda boring. The art style was really cool back in the day. The game is pretty dated and i havent touched in since 2015 or 2016 so it might of changed a lot since then.

Its pretty good even solo IMO and certainly more original and fresh than Far Cry. The first Borderlands is a pretty solid solo experience. The second was a bit harder for me to get through.

the first borderlands was enjoyable for a single player FPS, the second one was bigger in scale but just made you feel like you were going through the motions

Far cry 5 in my opinion had a good single player story and i replayed single player 3 times before i had enoufh. It also ran much better than fc4 on pc. Fc5 maxed out and my old cpu cut still handle it and keep fps above 60 fps accept a few places. While fc4 for me whas lag on lag and ghosting (ran sli back then). It dit not run good for me and i have retest it with one card and still lag.

But there is one thing that dissapointed me a lot with fc5. The endings in sp. No matter what of the 3 endings, i dit not get to put a bullet in Joseph Seed's head. It atill annoyes me today that i dit not get to kill him.

I think im getting new dawn cause i liked fc5 accept from sp endings and zombie dlc whas annoying with that screaming idiot and stories whas a bit meh kind of feeling. Vietnam is good and the alien part is alright.
