trparkyWindows 8.1? Really? That's your alternative? Windows 8.x is like Windows 10's retarded cousin. Windows 10 is at least usable, Windows 8.x is just godawful. Once I got Windows 10 I ground up my Windows 8.x installation DVD. Actually it deserved to be burned but I didn't want to poison myself with plastic fumes.
I have had 0 issues with 8.1 on my gaming systems, but I mean all I do is game, so meh.

ShihabyoooWell, to be fair, it won't matter much in 8 months...

Yep. Checked their website and it seems they indeed do. Pitty they can't take over patching the OS itself...
Yeah I like 7 way more than 10.

If MS were smart they should of just kept the 7 UI, added necessary features, improved internal code for multithread/numa and released 10 as a SP for 7 Users and as a Stand Alone.

Only thing about 7 was a few things Lacking in appearance customization that XP had.

I'm just glad I have the N version of Windows 10, it doesn't install any of the bloat or "facebook crap games" lol

eidairaman1Yes AMD does
AMD offers chipset, but like Intel, they don't offer IGP drivers for 7 any more.

Well since I know from experience that some Enterprise aren't moving from Windows XP (sad but true) because of some older programs still using it (again sad), this might be just enough time for them to switch from Windows 7 when Windows 10 gets even more reliable. That way corporation can adjust everything in time for transition.

Some time ago: notebooks running mandatory vista and working better with XP.
Then we got the fixed vista (6.1) aka called W7.

Now: Systems with W10 pre-sold that work excellent on Windows 7 (although notebook manufacturers try to scam you into thinking otherwise).

I would like to see the source article myself, because I don’t buy it. It has a bit too much desperation if you ask me.

Mate, you should really check the timestamps of what you read. These "news" are nearly a year old. And the content isn't even as remotely surprising as the clickbait of a headline tries to convey (paid Windows support existed before Win7 came to be). Without going into the overused topic of how this doesn't concern consumer-grade installs at all...

And you forgot to add the link in the description.
www.extremetech.com/computing/276582-microsoft-relents-confirms-extended-support-option-for-windows-7

And win10 has overtaken 7 since December.

And use an adblock! ;)
