Audio-Technica Introduces Its Truly Wireless ATH-CKS5TW and Its ATH-CK3TW Headphones at IFA 2019

At IFA 2019 Audio-Technica is introducing its ATH-CKS5TW and its ATH-CK3TW truly wireless in-ear headphones, which eliminate all connecting wires for the ultimate in comfort and on-the-go listening convenience. Both models combine Audio-Technica's 57 years of audio engineering expertise with compact, lightweight designs, long-lasting battery life, Bluetooth 5.0 wireless technology and outstanding audio quality.

The ATH-CKS5TW and ATH-CK3TW both feature a new Auto Power On/Off feature that automatically turns the headphones on and connects to a paired smartphone, portable digital audio player or other compatible device when they're removed from their case. Both models will also turn off automatically when placed back in their case. Both headphones are charged via an included USB-C connection and the cases feature LED battery status indicators.
Both headphones deliver enhanced audio quality during phone calls thanks to Qualcomm cVc Clear Voice Capture that improves clarity during phone conversations. Both incorporate Bluetooth 5.0 wireless technology for reliable long-range connectivity and multi-pairing capability. The ATH-CKS5TW and ATH-CK3TW are also perfect for fitness-oriented wearers thanks to their drip-proof IPX2 water resistance rating.

The ATH-CKS5TW incorporates next-generation true wireless technologies and features a new eartip design incorporating a 10 mm driver with a dual-layer diaphragm. The new diaphragm employs a specific combination of hard and soft materials to deliver clear, full-range audio with rich, accurate bass from any music source.
The exclusive new eartip style offers an improved, stable and comfortable fit and provides superior noise isolation from ambient sounds. The new design also facilitates superior high-frequency performance. The headphones are compatible with aptX, SBC and AAC codecs for the best-possible wireless audio quality. The ATH-CKS5TW delivers 15 hours of continuous playback when fully charged, and the included charging case provides an additional 30 hours - a total of 45 hours of on-the-go playing time.

Handy buttons located on each earbud allow easy control of music, phone calls and volume without having to operate these functions from a smartphone. The ATH-CKS5TW is compatible with the Audio-Technica Connect mobile app, which allows users to check battery life, adjust settings, control playback and locate the earbuds if they're misplaced. The ATH-CK3TW allows a wider audience to "Explore and Connect" with a truly wireless audio experience. Its 5.8 mm drivers provide a powerful listening experience despite the headphones' compact size, and smooth silicone eartips ensure a comfortable fit along with outstanding isolation from outside noise. The ATH-CK3TW is compatible with aptX and SBC codecs.

Touch sensors for controlling audio, calls and volume are located on each earbud. The headphones are compatible with Siri and Google Assistant for convenient and quick hands-free voice command activation. The ATH-CK3TW offers up to six hours of battery life per charge, and the charging case provides an additional 24 hours. The headphones feature Qualcomm TrueWireless Stereo Plus, a special low-latency function that ensures that users can stream audio with no disruption and a stable connection. Technically they're charged through the case and the case is charged by a USB cable.

Oh man, based on TPU's earlier review I was shooting for 1more true wireless. What do I do now?

I might consider the $99 version, I have a cheap pair that only cost $24, but they ended up sounding like crap. They also claim to be bluetooth 5.0 but I highly doubt they are. Maybe I can sell these for like $15 take my loss and buy a proper pair this time.
