Saber Interactive to Develop Witcher 3 Port for Next-Generation Consoles, Says CD Projekt RED
According to the latest information coming directly from CD Projekt RED, we are finding out that Witcher 3, one of the most popular releases from CDPR, is going to be ported to the next-generation console lineup by 3rd party studio. Here you can read the message CDPR passed in its H1 conference call:

CD Projekt president Adam KicinskiRegarding The Witcher 3 and its next-gen version: this project is developed outside, with our proven partner who had delivered the 4K version of The Witcher 3 and The Witcher 3 for Switch, so they already know our technology very well. We asked them to prepare the next-gen port, and as I said during my presentation, we expect a full next-gen experience, with great next-gen features, but it doesn't interfere with the next-gen development of CP, which is being done internally by the CP team, and we're confirming that CP will be released in the next-gen version. Well we have to differentiate two things: the current version, which will be released in November, will be playable from the beginning when next-gen consoles are released; you will be able to play the current-gen version on next-gen from day 1. And you can expect a bit higher quality than on the current-gen. However, the full-blown next-gen version is planned for next year and it will be developed internally.

I think I can upgrade my PC on a slower pace than that, by now. Good times being a PC gamer. You get all the pros and none of the cons. No walled gardens (unless you want to think there are... ;)), we get the console ports and even first party games now, they're all generally cheaper, online is not paid... and the hardware is much more accessible in a wide variety of price ranges. Poor? Play the new stuff on 720p. Rich? Double it and go high refresh. Mobile? Find your own sweetspot of mobility and performance.
And all of that with full control over hardware, avoiding planned obscolescence trickery every time, and always being free to make choices as a consumer can and should. So this is what nobility feels like. Privileged.
Peasants are free to enjoy their XSX / PS5. I'm not touching w 10 foot pole, but encourage them all to enjoy their pseudo 4K. Its likely going to be worse than current gen, as there is lots of new tech that will be spoonfed and eased into, and AMD is notoriously late to the RT party.
See, CDPR is just going to deliver a free update on the PC for this whole thing. I hope I can find the time to play it, still working through a mountain of free EGS games.
:peace:
What version does PC get day 1? The low res or high res?
then all the blah blah, using words like 'peasants', i guess it's fanboypowerup here now
Now... take a long look at the XSX and its smaller sibling and conclude that it actually got worse this gen: you now have two versions with radically different perf so two configs from day one onwards.
Im not sure where your logic comes from but an exaggeration it is most certainly not. Console is getting its share of different configs as a new norm which removes the 'level playing field' it once had. It is what it is, right?
Oh and on top of that..so far 80-90 % of the content announced is a re-release, a remake or a reboot. So essentially most of what you buy is yet another updated version really to begin with. A bit like replaying the same game on your PC after you upgraded your GPU :toast:
