GIGABYTE Outs GeForce RTX 3060 Ti AORUS Elite Graphics Card

GIGABYTE quietly rolled out the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti AORUS Elite graphics card. The company had debuted the AORUS Elite value-oriented graphics card custom-design with the RTX 3060 AORUS Elite, followed closely with the Radeon RX 6700 XT AORUS Elite. This is the third AORUS Elite card, and the second AORUS Gaming card based on the RTX 3060 Ti, the other being the over-the-top RTX 3060 Ti AORUS Master.

The GIGABYTE RTX 3060 Ti AORUS Elite measures 29.6 cm in length and the cooling solution design is similar to that of the other cards in the brand. A plastic cooler shroud holds a trio of 90 mm fans with ARGB LED diffusers along the bore of the intakes. The PCB only makes up two-thirds the length of the card, which means much of the airflow from the second and third fans flow through large cutouts on the card's backplate. The card draws power from a combination of 6-pin and 8-pin PCIe power connectors. It comes with factory overclocked speeds of 1785 MHz (compared to 1665 MHz reference, 1800 MHz of the RTX 3060 Ti AORUS Master, and 1770 MHz of the Gaming OC). The card comes with dual-BIOS, with a "silent" BIOS running it at closer-to-reference clocks, and a more aggressive fan-curve. The company didn't reveal pricing, but we expect the card to be positioned between the Gaming OC and AORUS Master.

Finally, a card that's standard height.

So many of these Ampere and RDNA2 cards violate the expansion card spec in height, it's refreshing to see one with decent-looking cooling that will fit in a slim HTPC.

Arguably it's still very slightly taller than spec but the PCB, and most importantly, the PCIe power connectors are at a standard height; Even with the slimmest-possible 180-degree PCIe power adapters, those adapters will still be the tallest part of the whole setup, or at least the rest of the cooler will be flush with them...

I Loooove the cooler on this card, the design is really tasteful the lighting looks awesome.

Wish there had been a 3080 version of this back in sept last year :\

If you want to fit it in a thin case, wouldn't you just go for a EVGA 2-fan 3060 Ti? It's like half the length (lmao), actually standard height, actually 2 slot width, not from a brand that is renown for terrible fans, and still cools well.

Not that any of them are available, but the EVGA card is a pretty clear choice for SFF. 3060 Ti really isn't a card that calls for triple fan coolers.

It's a 3 slot card, doesn't really scream "slim".

It's fine. Most slim HTPC cases use microATX which means this thing could be 3.5 slots wide and still fit.

I maybe used the wrong word - short would have been better.

I'm not a fan of Gigabyte products, but I find this cooler design with the huge cut-out on the back very interesting (I know the idea doesn't originate from Gigabyte, but still).

Why do the GPU companies make cards so big? I swear I don;t understand how you can get a card with 1 fan with this card and have this monstrosity that can probably cool a 3080 no problem.

Marketing, I guess.

I'd also prefer a smaller and lighter cooler in this range, and see the huge backplate cut-out on cards that actually need it (but can't have it because of their larger PCBs).

My 6800XT games at 47 C and the memory runs at 54 C. Some of these cards do not even need a backplate (in my opinion).

Unless you have Strix liquid, 52C according to the TPU test, or live in the fridge, 47C is hard to believe, What are you smoking, yours is 67/89 hotspot ok. There are also all kinds of hotspots, and hot memory that out of the box is so bad that can benefit form $9 thermal pad replacement that leads to a double digit temperature drop.

Better wait for 3070Ti that is 25% faster and merits the cooling solution and Elite tag much better. But that one may also have the internally extended power connectors that I find absolutely abhorrent.

Do all 6800xt have memory temp monitoring? Cause I can't find it on my gigabyte 6800xt gaming OC.

EVGA don't sell cards over here - it would have to be a third-party import
