c2d don't bother with timmings much, but for amd you need some low latency ram :)

I love G.Skills packaging. "Great Skill in Memory World" Man, it says it all. They do make some great modules. These I have are awesome. They have allowed me to really move beyond spec. Im working towards 2.8Ghz then 3.0Ghz myself.

If you don't like the timings, underclock to DDR2-800 and CL3 or look for other ram. You're going to have to trade transfer speed for latencies no matter what memory you buy. =/

Better yet, stop complaining and design your own memory.

Seriously though, you have to choose speed or latency. You can't have both.

But that's through testing. It's not rated at DDR2-1066 4-4-4. You could probably drive these chips down to DDR2-1066 4-4-4 too, but some people don't want to or don't know how to mess with those settings.
It's probably the same chips like you say, just different SPDs.
