ASUS AIO Coolers Will Be Fully Compatible With AMD AM5 Motherboards

ASUS today announced that a selection of its all-in-one (AIO) liquid coolers will be fully compatible with the AM5 (LGA 1718) socket designed for next-gen AMD CPUs. ROG Ryujin, Ryuo and Strix LC coolers will fit via an AM5 mounting kit, while TUF Gaming LC coolers will fit using the existing kits. A list of compatible ASUS coolers is provided in the table below.

Would be surprising if they weren't wouldn't it? Strange that they even need a new mounting kit.

Some using the AM4 kit, some getting new. Given that AMD officially stated cooler cross compatibility I'd presume the new kits from Asus are alike Arctic's offset kits so that the coolers have better contact with the new and changed hot spots on the CPU

Not so strange really. Speculation had AM5 mount holes in the same location, but that doesnt mean the mounting bracket is the same.

What do you mean speculation, AM4 cooler compatibility was one of the things AMD specifically mentioned in the reveal.

I think AM4 compatibility is only for the coolers using the standard AM4/5 backplate, but not too sure.

Yes but at the time they said it, that was not 100% guaranteed.

Noctua's practically done it since they stepped in the cooling game. I wouldn't be surprised if their NH-U12 from 2005 would still be compatible with modern sockets with the right mounting hardware.

The same could be said of most coolers since that time, if the plate is flat and large enough to cover the IHS, yea, mounting hardware would need to be adapted.

It still happens, I had to modify the AM3 brackets for my LF2 because Artic didnt do such a good job measuring every socket it claimed to work on. Mounting hardware... yea.
