NimeZ Unofficial Radeon Drivers 22.7.1 Bring Noise Suppression Tech to Pre-RDNA GPUs

Unofficial driver packs tend to unlock features outside of a product's feature-set, and the most prominent of these for AMD Radeon GPUs is the NimeZ series. Their latest 22.7.1-based driver pack extends Radeon Noise Suppression technology support to older generation GPUs (which predate the RX 5000 series). This would cover the RX 500/400 series "Polaris," the RX Vega series, and even the much older Graphics CoreNext architecture (R# 300-series and 200-series from a decade ago). Most importantly, this brings the technology to the various generations of AMD Ryzen and A-series APUs. Use of unofficial drivers isn't covered under product warranties, but then your pre-RDNA graphics card is probably outside its coverage anyway.

If this actually works just as well as on the officially supported products...then shame on AMD
(will download later)

Some users on reddit reported its working for RX 5000 too. downloading it to test.

Update: Works on my RX 5700. I experienced some crashes while gaming though so I'm back to official drivers.

it uses the gpu, if you dont care about performance in games it works but thats it

same thing happened with nvidia

It's a general noise cancellation algorithm, for filtering out all kinds of noise either on inputs (microphones etc.) or outputs (i.e. what you hear). An AMD alternative to RTX Voice.

I tested the early RTX Voice version, and it was utter bs in quality.......it probably improved a lot since then. The AMD version will be expanded throughout RDNA 1 I guess since it is beta rn.

Far more interesting than noise suppression, is if the 22.7.1 massive OpenGL/OpenCL improvements carried over to early GCN through these drivers. :) and perhaps Terascale, once Nimez creates such a build. Would give me a reason to fold on my HD7750's again.

Already on later GCN (Vega 8 mobile on 2500U), I see a relatively sizable PPD uplift in F@H with 22.7.1

This artificial restriction reminds of what Nvidia did with RTX Voice, which can work with pre-RTX Pascal and older GPUs; I think it's especially disappointing considering how they're still selling APUs with Vega graphics that might benefit from this feature.
