AMD Ryzen 9 7950X Up for Sale in Europe and China

Ahead of its September 27 market availability, AMD Ryzen 9 7950X "Zen 4" has already hit the gray-markets in China. Some retailers in Europe even started listing them. Chinese online gray-markets (peer to peer commerce) sites, list the 7950X at RMB ¥5,999 (around USD $850). None of these listings show a box, so it's likely that the sellers bought a tray of these chips in the OEM or SI channels, and is selling them off piecemeal. OEM-only AMD SKUs usually land in the retail channel this way. Over in Europe, French retailer Cdiscount has the 7950X listed at 1,099€ including taxes ($1,102). The store also lists the 7900X at 749€ ($751), the 7700X at 589€ ($591), and the 7600X at 409€ ($410).

Are any mb's available yet?

Could be interesting to do some benching.

Get a leg up on reviews...

Is there even a point in listing both prices now?

WTA...

Jeez should I just go ahead and upgrade to last gen before the next gen gets here?

If prices stateside are anywhere near that, everyone's going to buy Zen 3 and Alder Lake!

Do these prices include VAT? If so, it doesn't seem too out of hand, but I would be waiting on the bigger authorized retail partners to list prices before I get too worried. :)

Should be easily identified by the part number. Retail (non-OEM) parts have a 'WOF' ending after the number. I'm not sure if it shows on the CPU, though.

You all are aware this is nowhere near launch pricing? I was surprised to see them so cheap.

Is shown in the Cdiscount page screenshots, not sure about the CPU pic itself.

I believe the SEP for the 7950X was supposed to be $699 US, but add import duties, VAT and distributor pricing, that sounds where I'd expect to be paying for one outside the United States. :)

Reviewers will get them before launch anyway and post right when NDA expires, so there is not much to leg up.

Meanwhile Gigabyte has posted manuals for their X670 boards on their site already.

OMG even the retail companies are hyped with the products. Money grab begins with all the hype and earlier purchases will come down to higher prices. You can see it in the listed prices.
So hold your horses and wait with purchases.

There's many reasons! It's a new platform with teething issues that no one knows about yet. It's the first 5 nm CPU with a new socket and IHS, and unknown heat dissipation characteristics. Speaking of heat, it's the first 170 W TDP CPU as well. No one knows how it works in a home PC. Buying without reading reviews first is stupid. Plain and simple.

If you mean no reason not to pre-order instead of buying it from shady individuals on Ebay, then I agree.

So another 100€ increase over 5600x launch, that had 100€ increase over 3600 launch. This is fine. :kookoo:

it was already at the 5600x launch, and the 3600.

If the price of the 5700X reduces by 30% I'll buy it, no doubt about it. I couldn't care less how much the new chip ( Intel or AMD) score in CPU-Z. Less heat and lower power consumption are what I'm after.

Bomby569he's clearly comparing the prices of gpu's in europe and the us, not talking about currency exchange rates
And where did you get that from? GPUs aren't even mentioned in this thread.

But there's no comparison to US prices in the article either. USD values in it are from exchange rates.
