Forspoken Patch 1.1 Brings Better Performance and Better Graphics

Square Enix has released the new Patch 1.1 for its Forspoken game, improving both the performance and graphics details in some segments of the game, and fixing some of the bugs. According to the patch notes, the new Patch 1.1 brings several performance optimizations to the game, and while the actual performance will vary depending on the PC hardware, Square Enix is promising as much as 30 percent improvements in performance. Square Enix says that it managed to reduce processing load in certain areas of the game and certain scenes by up to 70 percent, and has also reduced the VRAM usage, which all add to the performance improvement gain.

The new patch also brings several graphics improvements, bringing brightness and contrast (and HDR) adjustments at the start of the game. It adds some changes to lighting and ambient occlusion, improves the glare filter quality, adjusts the texture and shading for certain objects, and more. Forsaken? innocent typo or deliberate criticism?
if the game gets a patch perhaps it was not "forsakened" ;)
all kidding aside, this is still a news site so at least get the headline correct.
and 25 years ago, Forsaken was actually a good game!

gimme a shout out when it hits 80% discount, then I might, just might, consider it. And yes, fix Frey's character while they're at it, she's quite dislikable to me

At the current price, unwilling to give it a shot. It needs to be reduced by 75% in Brazil to bring it in line with AA full price.

The Deluxe edition currently costs 474,50 BRL, or a third of a minimum wage. It's difficult to justify that value for an expansive release you'd sink thousands of hours into, but for a lukewarm flop with scores ranging in the 40% range, it's too much.

Remember when they retconned Dinklage out of Destiny? Not quite the same, but it’s been done to some extent.

Personally, I think it’s great that people are passing up on a game where the protagonist sucks. We still need heroes. They can certainly be flawed, but they have to be redeemable.

Curious. You don't appear to have the game yet have formulated a firm view of the protagonist based on the opinion of others. I don't suggest that the opinion is wrong but curious all the same.

Alas I didn't find the sentence in the release notes: Fixes an issue in the game whereby people found it sucks.

Must I have the game, play it, regret buying it to form an opinion? Albeit negative one at that? I've read reviews, that's true, and watch gameplay vids, based on her (Frey's) comments, I found her comments to be generally disagreeable, too snide and too cocky for my liking. I know her character's supposed to be from NY, but that NY attitude doesn't sit well with me. Infusing her character with a certain level of uncertainty, of her purpose would have been more my jam, at least, I can grow with her character as I play, gaining insights and abilities as I get deeper into the game.

It's sorta like DSR, when I play Isaac on my first run, the voice actor displayed some level of uncertainty, fear, frustration....Frey's just too damn cocky. There's a reason why it's even been acknowledged as a big flop by the dev themselves as the sales figures bears out the truth. IF it were any good, peeps would buy it. that's the simple truth.

Well, i finished the game a while back, i fired it up again too see the changes, but i didn't notice anything different, performance or graphics wise. So I'm assuming the changes are minor.

Beat this game on Sunday. I actually kind of liked Frey's FU attitude. Just feels right to me that someone might be saying that stuff when taken from NYC. I vibed with that more than running around 100 years ago in Harry Potter with everyone with super proper accents. The ending for Forspoken though was not super great IMO because it left on a bit of a cliffhanger and I imagine there'll be no sequel to this game unless the DLC follows up with it. Even though Gotham Knights wasn't a smash hit, I still liked the ending to that one because it had a good amount of lore at the end. Still, I found the gameplay a bit addicting in Forspoken so I put 25 hours into it. So I did enjoy parts of the game.
