Razer Achieves 8000Hz True Polling Rate for Wireless Gaming Mice with Viper Mini Signature Edition via a Firmware Update

Razer today unveiled an update for its Razer Viper Mini Signature Edition, once again setting a new industry benchmark for gaming performance by introducing true 8000 Hz wireless polling rates, at 0.125 ms polling intervals. This game-changing update establishes Razer as the world's first brand to achieve this unparalleled level of wireless technology, further solidifying its industry-leading position and commitment to delivering the ultimate gaming experience.

Throughout the past year, Razer has persistently introduced industry-leading innovations that have solidified its role as the leading gaming brand worldwide. Introducing features such as the Focus Pro 30K Optical Sensor, boasting 99.8% resolution accuracy—the most accurate sensor to date—and pushing the limits to 90 million clicks with Optical Mouse Switches Gen-3. Combining these state-of-the-art technologies, the Viper Mini Signature Edition remains the premier top-tier mouse in the market.
Razer's HyperPolling Wireless technology provides unparalleled accuracy and responsiveness, making it the ultimate tool for competitive gamers. The dongle's sleek design connects effortlessly to PCs via Type C and features a customizable LED light. Gamers can also adjust the polling rate using Razer Synapse on PC, selecting from 125 Hz to the groundbreaking 8000 Hz rate. This versatility allows players to optimize performance based on their game's requirements, tailoring the polling rate for individual titles in their library.

The firmware update enabling true 8000 Hz wireless polling rates for the Viper Mini Signature Edition is now available for download here. Owners of the mouse can experience this revolutionary update starting April 24, 2023, redefining the standards for gaming mice and further reinforcing Razer's position as the ultimate choice for gamers worldwide.

I would never need anything in this realm of performance, but I will say that I'm really liking their high end products. I hope they keep pushing the envelop while keeping/exceeding current levels of build quality.

Yep, their wireless implementation is the best too, even at lower Hz.

I will soon find out. I'm going to grab a Razer Naga Pro V2 this weekend. Just bought the V1 and can't stand the scroll wheel as the adaptative scroll on the Basilisk V3 spoiled me. So I didn't get to test out that wireless function as I've already placed it back in the box. I will be looking forward to experiencing a wireless mouse for the first time.

This is getting so ridiculous that at some point we are going to get crap like mice connecting to NVMe for higher polling and lower latency.

Is it just me or is the "download here" firmware link not an actual link?

Also I am excited to try this, I could tell the difference between 1000hz and 4000hz on my 360hz monitor but it was a subtle change however.

I heard Razer is preparing a mouse for next year that'll have negative latency, you'll be ahead of the curve for sure!

We have needed an upgrade to 4khz polling for use with high refresh rate displays for a long time now and very little has been done about it. It is great to see people starting to finally jump ahead and get us to the next spec before it is actually needed.

Just because a difference is measurable doesnt mean it really matters
