BeagleBoard.org Announces New BeagleV-Fire FPGA and RISC-V Single Board Computer

BeagleBoard.org, a pioneer in open-source single-board computers (SBCs), is excited to unveil the BeagleV -Fire, a revolutionary SBC powered by the Microchip's PolarFire MPFS025T FCVG484E 5x core RISC-V System on Chip (SoC) with FPGA fabric. Yes and also different OS, there in the link there is the performance in MT, but it is not the same as that obtained by Phoronix.

Looks to me like tests done in 2019. I tend to assume that there are already various improvements. Maybe not essential, but still?

Is it really IPC that Coremark measures (they just say "speed")? And if it is, are the Risc-V and ARMv8 instruction sets similar in complexity and capabilities for IPC comparison to make sense?

Certainly the intention is to estimate IPC, hence the Score/Mhz metric. I couldn't say how fair this test is for measuring IPC between different ISAs. But, it's the only performance metric we have to speculate on.
