Crysis Single-Player Demo Delayed to October 26, 2007
After much anticipation from the public on the Crysis single player demo, Crytek has officially announced that the demo will be delayed to October 26, 2007 in order to be able to release the full game on November 16th.
Cevat Yerli, President and CEO of Crytek says:
"First, I am sorry for the bad news - the Crysis single player demo will now be available everywhere on October 26th, 2007. We are taking some extra time to make sure you that you have an amazing experience but also we did not want to risk the release date of Crysis at this stage. To get the game into your hands by November the 16th, we had to make this call"

sad but at least I know I don't have to waste money on the final game
I wanted to play it.... :(
I say we kick their dicks in. ;)
Well, lets hope they can keep it at Oct 26 now.
Someone just leak the damn thing already...............
:banghead: IM TOTALLY FUCKED OFF :banghead:
I got a beta key from a friend and DL the client ....... SWEET :D
I played it every night after work and on the weekends even with my shitty Australian 300 ping ........ AWESOME :D
To be fair I applied for a key for myself through inCrysis.com and was going to give the key back (special key that could be used again) :)
3 days ago I kept getting "CD key in use" errors and could only join certain servers :ohwell:
Last night my key was disabled and now I cant play at all. :shadedshu
So far I haven't received an email with a key from inCrysis.com (sent out in the last 36hrs)
AND NOW the fuckin demo is announced delayed 3 days before release. :twitch::mad:
WTF is going on with this shit !!!!!

The demands of the gaming experience, the DX9 vs DX10 split, and the constant delays just puts a dark spot of the whole thing. I was really serious about this game, even joined a couple of user groups to stay informed, but at this point I just dont care anymore. I should have known any project EA got involved in would go to hell, Ive played the Battlefield series since the demo of 1942. The beta revealed a lot of flaws that needed to be addressed, but honestly why bother delaying the demo. If they fix the flaws held by the small user base that is part of the beta, larger ones are going to arise for the average gamer that want the game. Most users that I know who got their betas through the file-nazis (fileplanet founders club) have high end systems and had nothing but problems with beta 1 and 2, but since its under NDA nobody is allowed to say anything about it.
When you hold out for perfection you end up killing half your audience who are just tired of waiting, since World in Conflict came out I've lost all interest in crysis. If the demo ever does come out I'll give it a shot, but at this point I just dont care anymore. Give me the game or stop telling me how "amazing" its going to be.
I think there's a conspiracy... they (the dev's) draw people in with the low specs and when those people find out they can't run it enjoyably with their computer, those people are likely to upgrade (anyone remember the "The way it's meant to be played: nVidia" advertisement at the beginning of every nVidia sponsored game?) to a certain company, thus creating revenue. Smart, but evil... <_<
well, I cant say it sucks, this months Maximum PC says its absolutely awesome.
Crytek can compete with the big ones of the industry - at least when it comes to push expectations and hypes and delay releases. It lacks the "when its done" phrase...
From recent videos I lowered my expectations since the gameplay and AI didn't look as promising as hyp... err... advertised. I hope it will be a bit more than a good looking shooter at least.
Crytek is "optimizing" the game since January. If it is still running unsmooth and far from good, either this game was pretty f***ed up in January or all the "optimizations" were pretty useless. 16th November we'll see.

It says 3 days or I'm wrong? or the site is not updated yet?
Here's some more detailed info.
Apparently the demo is coming with the sandbox editor, pretty cool.
I was going to post a news story telling you that Crysis demo will be out in 3 days...
