ATI Radeon HD 3800 Series Specs, Photos and Logos
The title says it all. ATI Radeon HD 3870, the one on the second picture will feature 825MHz core and 2400MHz memory clocks, DirectX 10.1 support, and PCI-e 2.0 technology. ATI Radeon HD 2850 on the third picture will be clocked at 700MHz/1800MHz core/memory with DirectX 10.1 support and PCI-e 2.0. Both cards will feature 55nm manufactured graphics processing unit (GPU).

this is "basically" just a die shrink of the R600 with a few extras
so id expect a very nice overclock on these :)
That second pic looks like the old x800XTPEs and X850XTPEs with that huge honking cooler on it.
A nice move in my opinion, but the benchmarks will tell. I'm pretty sure G80 will finally meet it's match, it's been a year coming.
The R600 GPU and the RV670 GPU are identical. The only difference is the manufacturing process, going from 80nm to 55nm (allegedly).
This means that the HD 2900 series and the HD 3800 series will differ solely in clock speed, which is laughable.
And calling is the HD 3870.. makes me think they're trying to screw themselves into the ground intentionally..
And that pisses me off, because I thought that I would FINALLY get to see the Red side get the upper hand, as it had a year ago. But.. I guess there is no red side anymore is there? It's the AMD side now..
