Leaked AMD Documents Show New DX10.1 Feature; RV670 Superiority
While the NVIDIA 8800GT may be getting a lot of press, AMD refuses to let itself be forgotten about. Leaked documents show that the RV670 (HD 3800 series) will be well worth the wait for it. While people hear that the RV670 will be PCI Express 2 and DX10.1 compatible, have Unified Video Decoder (UVD), and be 55nm, this doesn't really amount to much if people have no idea what the benefits are from any of that. And so, this leaked document shows one of the many goodies waiting for potential RV670 customers, via a "global illumination" demo. The image on the left is rendered with DX10.1, and the one on the right is rendered with DX10.0. Vista SP1 will be built on the DirectX10.1 architecture.

The leak :) , and I PMed it to you before the INQ and others followed with it.
I posted it days ago in the video card section:)
Yeah, just like the HD series, and the Phenom eh?
If ATI cant get their shit together and release a competitive product on time, I am getting a 8800GT this xmas.
And, if you have the means for LN2 supercooling and volt mods for suicide runs, the 2900 XT is one of the easiest to modify. Makes for a great choice on the bench front, that's for certain.
As for the 8800 GT, it is the NVIDIA mainstream product, not high end. The 8800 GTX replacement has yet to be released. If the 8800 GT is any hint of that capability, the successor will be a great card, as well.
Either way you go, these new cards are always getting better, which is always a good thing :)
That pic on the right is more like something from a MX440!!!!
But I could be wrong so we will see
What can we expect from them in a Huge shadowed and textured Game.
Shame on you:shadedshu.
My DX9 looks better than That.
Nvidia couldn't bring a DX10.1 card to the market so AMD sucks? Nvidia couldn't do the true DX10 standard and held everyone up so Microsoft could redo the code. AMD has DX10 demos out there for there cards. I see Crysis is running just fine in DX10. The HD2900XT has been one of the top dogs in 3Dmark06. It's not my DX9 looks better than that, it's also rendering other stuff at the same time. This is a quick simple to your face pic that they are talking about. This PDF wasnt made for the average joe, and wasn't all fixed up for marketing.......
I'll just wait and see what price/performance it will be and when it'll be released. I'm planning on upgrading my graphic card in january or so (if I can get a job by then.. ;)) and then we'll see. I'd prefer an AMD-card though because I really like their AVIVO, but if they don't make something good and not to expensive by then I'm going for a 8800GT.
Though I'm not sold on anything from the picture, but thank you for telling me :)
