ASUS to Push Desktop Version Eee PC Next Year

ASUSTeK Computer is developing a desktop version of Eee PC which it hopes to launch in 2008, according to Jonathan Tseng, president of marketing at ASUSTeK. Tseng noted that the PC will not include a display, but further specifications and pricing are still under evaluation. Unfortunately, at present that's all the information available for this bright future project.

Let me guess, pricing scheme will go something like this: $200-$250 pre-release PR hyped estimates, followed by actual pricing of $400+ upon release, in another words, same thing they did with mobile version week ago. ASUS is master when it comes to PR bullshiting. I mean, their motherboards and video cards aren’t that special, in fact if newegg’s “Open Box” section is any kind of indicator, their products are anything but quality parts. But thanks to their hype/PR machine, they got every teenager from Canada to Cambodia with a wad of cash fooled otherwise.
