LG Launches USB ‘Vaccine’ Drive
LG Electronics today launches its Vaccine USB in the UK - the world's first USB equipped with antivirus and malware protection software. In addition to storing large amounts of data, the USB provides users with an extra layer of protection through real-time system monitoring and hardware scans.LG's Vaccine USB protects any PC or laptop from the moment it is inserted with its 'plug and auto run' function. Once connected, the USB automatically monitors incoming traffic for viruses and malware with real-time system monitoring. In addition, users can carry out in-depth hardware scans whenever necessary to verify the presence of infection and perform repairs to cure or delete defected files.
The anti-virus and malware firmware is regularly updated through automatic downloads from the Internet to ensure the USB provides maximum protection at all times.
"In today's high-tech world, computers are continually at risk from viruses and malware," says Fiona Landsberg, marketing manager, LG Electronics. "LG recognises that at times computers will not be protected as well as they should be which causes unnecessary risk for users. Our latest USB drive has been developed to give people that extra confidence when connected to the Internet, ultimately lowering the chances of infection."
The USB's anti-virus software comes with a free two-year licence, providing protection to any computer during that time period that is used with the USB. After two years, users can purchase an additional licence at a lower than market cost.
This attractive USB is matt black in design with a mirrored front. Furthermore, the USB drives are available in various storage capacity of between 512 MB and 8 GB.
Key Specifications:
Dimensions: 56 (L) X 15.5 (W) X 6.7 (D) mm
Capacity : 512MB - 4GB
Data Transfer Rate: Read - 7 MB/s, write - 5 MB/s
