Sony's PlayStation Home Online Service Delayed Again

Sony PlayStation 3's online community service Home will not be launched until this fall, Sony Computer Entertainment has announced in just another delay. The service was first announced in July last year and promised to be available globally in the "fall" of 2007 but later it was delayed until "spring" 2008 at the Tokyo Game Show. Now the launch date is being moved to the "fall" of this year. When the time comes, PlayStation Home will be available only as an open beta test service.
We understand that we are asking PS3 and prospective PS3 users to wait a bit longer, but we have come to the conclusion that we need more time to refine the service to ensure a more focused gaming entertainment experience than what it is today, ... Spending more time on the development and on the Closed Beta testing reaffirms our commitment to bringing a quality service, maintaining the PlayStation tradition.
said Kazuo Hirai, president of Sony Computer Entertainment, in a statement. There are no details on when PlayStation Home might launch as a full service.

Who cares. I'm not going be dicking around in Home when there are games like GTA4, Gears of War2, MGS4, Fable 2, Final Fantasy 13, Call of Duty 5 (unless it's a Treyarch game), Starcraft 2, Half-Life2 Ep:3, Portal 2, Shadow of the Colossus 2. etc..

Sony isn't going to release a half assed product to the masses when they have so much press on them right now. Home is going to be something that no one will complain about...Sony has said it too many times to count, they aren't going to release Home until they believe it is the highest possible quality.

I'm willing to wait on something if it will be better.

True, but you understand what he meant Effmaster. Im so tired of this bashing about the PS3. I didnt buy it for home, just like I didnt buy the xbox 360 for live. Its a nice little addition, but its not my main reasoning. If someone did by either one of them for that reason, they have serious issues that they need to deal with.

As Ravenas said, I can wait longer for it. Its not like we cant do what some of Home is offering, right now.

Big difference between perfect and highest POSSIBLE quality. Don't put words in my mouth. ;)

It's not possible to have a perfect form, haven't you taken Philosophy college boy?

I believe the article agrees with me as well:
"We understand that we are asking PS3 and prospective PS3 users to wait a bit longer, but we have come to the conclusion that we need more time to refine the service to ensure a more focused gaming entertainment experience than what it is today," said Kazuo Hirai, president of Sony Computer Entertainment, in a statement.

The term "college boy" is verbal abuse? I thought that would be a nice term for you...Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you the creator and a current member of the college boys club house:

Anyhow, no problem we all misunderstand things from time to time.
