But considering Sony doesn't have any arcade racing games anymore, this is good news for PlayStation gamers. The days of first party games are not gone, but the days of exclusives pretty much are. It's just not cost-effective anymore.
But I fear that this will create a vacuum since gamers and publishers will think that there is no reason to publish anything on Xbox.
Another thing, I feel bad for Phill since everyone is blaming him, but I'm pretty sure that such decision cannot be made by himself and instead was forced by Nadella.
They could and should do a bit of exclusivity but make sure to announce such plans.
IMHO, they should release their games as follows:
1- Launch on Xbox.
2- Six months after on PC (Xbox and Steam)and GamePass. Even though, GamePass should or could be on step one.
3- 9 to 12 months after, Sony and Nintendo.
Lastly, more platforms, more money for publishers.
Lets see how this plays out.
FH5 on PC is synonymous with cheating. Again draw your own conclusions.
For MS this makes much more sense, software is where the profits are, unless you are named nintendo. Release your software on other people's hardware, reap int he profits, leave the hardware support to another suck....I mean entrepreneurial group.
Realistically, the xbox series, the xbone, and the OG xbox were all massive failures sales wise. ONLY the xbox 360 was a sales success, and that is more due to sony deciding to take the stupid pill for half a decade. I dont feel bad for Phil at all. The man was born with a foot in his mouth and has perpetually fought every attempt to remove it.
Microsoft should stick to their strengths and sell fridges. That has a purpose. Not smartphones or gaming consoles. Not selling DLC for age of empires. Just sell fridges - what we need
