Forza Horizon 5 Comes to PlayStation 5 in Spring 2025

With nearly 900 cars available in the game, over 40 thematic game updates, two expansions, and so much more content, our team is excited to announce that this spring, PlayStation 5 players will be able to explore Mexico's beautiful roads and experience the Horizon Festival for the first time as we are officially launching Forza Horizon 5 on PS5.

The PlayStation 5 version of Forza Horizon 5, developed by Panic Button in partnership with Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games, will have the same content as the Xbox and PC releases of the game. Previously released Car Packs, as well as the Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure expansions, will also be available for purchase.
We are excited to see the Forza Horizon 5 community grow with new players on PS5, and we can't wait to see the creativity and skill these new creators, builders, and racers will bring to our vibrant community.

In addition to bringing Forza Horizon 5 to PS5, we're working on a special new free content update for all platforms, Horizon Realms. Realms will give players the chance to explore a curated collection of some of the community's favorite previously released Evolving Worlds, alongside some other surprises. Stay tuned to our channels for more details soon.

Four cars drive through the neon airfield including the silver 2021 Rimac Nevera, the red 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, the blue 2021 Lexus LC 500 and the blue 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing.

Wishlist Forza Horizon 5 on the PlayStation Store today to stay informed about updates and release times. If you already own the game on another platform, share the news with your friends in the PS5 community and tell them to get ready to join your convoys as cross-play will be available for all Forza Horizon 5 players across Xbox consoles, PC and PS5.

We look forward to welcoming new players to the Horizon Festival, and we are sure Forza Horizon 5 veterans will share their experience, tips, and tricks to make beginners feel right at home as they start their adventures.

@ZoneDymo not only that, it renders an xbox redundant with a pc, and proves that multi-platform multiplayer was always possible and it is the decision of every business to block that possibility every time .

I can't wait for the ad where they show a PS5 and say "this is an Xbox". :D

But considering Sony doesn't have any arcade racing games anymore, this is good news for PlayStation gamers. The days of first party games are not gone, but the days of exclusives pretty much are. It's just not cost-effective anymore.

Wonder if this is how Microsoft will handle The Elder Scrolls VI, should that come out in my lifetime I'll be interested... in the PC version of course.

This is good news for Sony folks, I'm not a fanboy of either system, cross platform games make total sense and Horizon is a game worth porting over. Xbox probably won't release another hardware revision that isn't for all-intents-and-purposes, a branded PC.

i think theres an oppertunity for microsoft to play both sides of this, they can release their game on playstation and simultaneously make xbox/pc the best way to play with a better plastic box with exclusive features/content only available on their console and give people a reason to buy an xbox

On one hand, I'm happy that the exclusives BS might finally die, since you will be free to choose which ever console you want and all games will be there.

But I fear that this will create a vacuum since gamers and publishers will think that there is no reason to publish anything on Xbox.

Another thing, I feel bad for Phill since everyone is blaming him, but I'm pretty sure that such decision cannot be made by himself and instead was forced by Nadella.

They could and should do a bit of exclusivity but make sure to announce such plans.

IMHO, they should release their games as follows:

1- Launch on Xbox.
2- Six months after on PC (Xbox and Steam)and GamePass. Even though, GamePass should or could be on step one.
3- 9 to 12 months after, Sony and Nintendo.

Lastly, more platforms, more money for publishers.

Lets see how this plays out.

There are numerous other titles available on PC that have 0/zero/nada cheating in online play on PS. XBOX is a very walled off and inferior environment. Draw your own conclusions.

FH5 on PC is synonymous with cheating. Again draw your own conclusions.

MS is doing a great job giving customers a reason to buy a PS5.

The Xbox is already near worthless, hence why it is selling so poorly.

For MS this makes much more sense, software is where the profits are, unless you are named nintendo. Release your software on other people's hardware, reap int he profits, leave the hardware support to another suck....I mean entrepreneurial group.

Realistically, the xbox series, the xbone, and the OG xbox were all massive failures sales wise. ONLY the xbox 360 was a sales success, and that is more due to sony deciding to take the stupid pill for half a decade.

I dont feel bad for Phil at all. The man was born with a foot in his mouth and has perpetually fought every attempt to remove it.

Xbox seems to be taking the same path as Windows Phone. MS invested heavily, took a lot of lumps, showed some promise, bought a lot of assets. The last iteration of Windows Mobile was a buggy disaster, and then the product was thrown out in the cold to a slow death. Meanwhile, MS pivoted to selling all its stuff on any platform that will have them, including the before-unheard-of Office on iPad. The problem is that as MS continues to fail in hardware endeavors, it means they have to double-down on crazy schemes. We went to Office as only a subscription, Windows mining our data and serving us ads, and now Copilot AI is invading everything. What does this mean for the company that now owns a heap of gaming studios? It's starting out promising, but I'm afraid the other shoe is going to drop, and it will be made out of lead. MS doesn't have a soul. They occasionally come across as hip or trying to get in-touch, but at the end of the day, they will resort to the soulless part of the business. I'm afraid that I don't believe them owning all this gaming content will be a good thing in the long run. Any of it can be trashed on a whim.

Oh right Windows phone. When you looked at it when someone had it. Oh yay - what is that a device? oh really? hmm how does it work...

Microsoft should stick to their strengths and sell fridges. That has a purpose. Not smartphones or gaming consoles. Not selling DLC for age of empires. Just sell fridges - what we need

Not for everyone. If I'd get a console of this generation, I'd get a Xbox just because I like its controller more.
