EA Further Extends Expiration Date for Take-Two Offer to June 16, 2008

Game publisher Electronic Arts said it is extending its tender offer for Take-Two Interactive Software to to 11:59 p.m., New York City time, on Monday, June 16, 2008, unless further extended. This is the third extension in EA's buyout attempt, previous offer was set to expire on May 16, 2008. EA, which first proposed to Take-Two in late February this year, said despite the extension, it's current offer remains the same.
EA's offer price remains unchanged at $25.74 per share and our offer is still subject to conditions that include regulatory approval. As stated earlier, we retain the right to terminate the offer if the conditions are not satisfied.
said Owen Mahoney, Senior Vice President of EA Corporate Development.

a lot of companies got bought out & merged with EA. but one thing i dont get, if so many companies went into EA then why cant stop making sh!tty buggy ridden games? I'l symphathise with the fact that most bugs if not already discoverd pre release are discoverd when the game is already reeased & a few million are playing it & hence complaining about the same things. its always a slow process to perfect a working solution.

I know its a slow hard process but hey thats what Beta testers are for. hire a few more of those. & maybe 'Asimilating' a few GOOD/DECENT/GREAT companies might actually seem a good idea to the cosumers since the coding/testing teams are being more proactive in their work instead of leaving it till release & damage their own/the games reputation/enjoyment by releasing bug ridden goods.

the BF2 series is a prime example....

oh yeah & get rid of the EA start up screens each time i have to load into a BF2 server from X-Fire.

I love to play BF2 but if it takes 10mins to load into a game each time ive already decided i want to play - id rather go play with my balls instead.

Obviously i cant speak for EA recently as i havent played any of their releases but I heard BF2142 was buggy as hell.

& its a shame the other expansions for BF2 werent ever released on CD/DVD

That's because EA pretty much just buys them for their franchise names. They usually either get rid of the companies design team, or reassign them. They also push deadlines up, and immediately have the designers start on the next big title, therefore the current games don't get coders, as they've already made their moneys.
