MSI Launches a Fleet of AMD 790 GX Motherboards, Sideport Meets DDR3

Micro-Star International (MSI), the world's third-largest mainboard manufacturer, will officially promote its latest high C/P value mainboard series - DKA790GX. The mainboard series utilizes AMD's latest 790GX/SB750 chipsets which provides full HD, best-in-class 3D graphics performance, enhanced scalability, and "Rock-Solid Stability" for mainstream gaming, multimedia and commercial PC systems.

MSI DKA790GX series mainboard based on AMD 790GX and SB750 chipset. This solution brings the new technology "Advanced Clock Calibration" for extreme user. In the BIOS or AMD Overdrive software of DKA790GX, user can enable ACC option to improve communication with Black Edtion Phenom CPU, removing a previous bottleneck and improving the maximum overclocking. In addition, the DKA790GX series mainboard comes with several unique technologies, including Flat Circu-Pipe for cooling solution, 5 phases PWM with DrMOS support for 140W CPU and high performance IGP overclocking. The 790GX mainboard series offers 3 models: DKA790GX Platinum, DKA790GX and KA790GX. All these mainboards are designed to meet the needs of avid gamers and high-end multimedia applications.
Onboard VGA, Hybrid CrossFireX and CrossFireX ready!
DKA790GX series mainboard build-in with Radeon HD 3300 GPU core. The new integrated graphics processor (IGP) supports DirectX 10 and incorporates dual display, integrated DVI, HDMI, and VGA Port providing realistic and truly playable frame rates on some of the latest games titles. DKA790GX Platinum have quip additional 1Gbit DDR3 1333MHz IGP memory to accelerate onboard VGA 3D performance enhanced up to 15%. This design can meet all the multi-media needs.

Beside onboard VGA, DKA790GX series support Hybrid CrossFireX technology, it takes user's gaming experience to the next level. The ATI Hybrid CrossFireX boosts the 3D performance by enable the chipset's integrated graphics processor and a discrete GPU to operate simultaneously with combined output to a single display for blisteringly-fast frame rates. Of cause, if you are a gaming user and hope the extreme performance. DKA790GX series also support CrossFireX technology. We suggest user to combine two MSI R4870 or R4850 graphics cards. That will bring higher 3D gaming resolutions with more detail DX10.1 effect, and enhances the 3D frame rate to a higher level and excellent experience.

Flat Circu-Pipe and 5 phases PWM with 140W CPU support!
DKA790GX Platinum has designed a flat circu-pipe solution with circle shape and bigger sink surface. The special design can enhance 20% of heat dissipation performance and faster than others. The flat design of heat-pipe also without mechanical issue. The processor power supply of DKA790GX series have 5 phases PWM design, it can support 140W CPU. Through MSI's power design, it allows power supply to become more stable, also reduces the heat produced, especially during huge overclocking.

Selected server-class DrMOS and solid capacitors!
The capacitors on these mainboards are high-quality solid capacitors that are made in Japan. These capacitors with low impedance and high ripple current and other characteristics provide better filtering effect. To further highlight MSI DKA790GX series products, the PWM MOSFET on these mainboards are based on DrMOS. DrMOS is a server class part which combine high/low side MOSFET and driver IC together. It has better power efficiency, low spike noise and high response speed characteristics. Thus, DrMOS is suitable for mainboards with high-frequency switching power supply to provide the extreme overclocking.

These three mainboards have different specifications, DKA790GX Platinum has an extreme performance design, DKA790GX and KA790GX are high C/P value products. But these three products are developed for power user; they are the best choice for overclocking or users looking for a high performance mainboard.

I wonder if they will ever make this chipset in micro-atx. That would be sweet to have a small form factor PC and run a 4850 in Hybrid. One can only dream.

DFI has a P45 board out now thats Crossfire and they are working on a 790GX M-ATX board with two PCI-E slots :)

And I convinced my dad to get a ASUS 790GX upgrade for our HTPC :D Now I gotta wait for the 45nm!

Im buying one the new SB750 is going to kick ass with overclock-ability. :respect:

Side thought: 1 gig of onboard ddr3 there has got to be some way to utilize that besides just for IGP.
